Best of the Azores: 7 days in São MiguelFantastic trip! Each island is gorgeous in its own way. Our guide,Tania, knows the islands and all the trails and restaurants like the back of her hand. She led our group with kindness and humor. And our fellow travelers couldn’t have been more fun. The Explore staff is also very supportive and easy to work with.
Walking in the AzoresI had an absolutely wonderful week enjoying Maderia's nature and culture. Joao was an incredible guide - so knowledgeable, accommodating, kind and patient the entire week. All the walks were beautiful and there was a nice balance of physical activity and down time. I felt very comfortable as a female solo traveler and really enjoyed the time we spent in nature. Two things to note - the airport transfers are included; however, I waited over an hour when I arrived only to realize that I had to wait for other group members to land. It would have been appreciated if this was communicated to me beforehand. Explore responded immediately via WhatsApp but failed to mention that I would need to wait for as long as I did. Secondly, Hotel do Carmo (the last hotel we stayed in) is undergoing extensive construction which iwas incredibly loud (throughout the entire day). Overall, I would highly recommend, especially if you can get Joao as your guide!
