The tour guides were very helpful and informative and enthusiastic and a lot was covered On my second morning I struggled feeling sick after Cap town breakfast and wondered ifvit was the drink and the driver I had back to airport requested a tip which I found odd. Besides that it was a good itinerary and may return for different side
- Authenic Experiences in Hanoi & Sapa with Cooking Class, Market, Ethnic Group People, Trekking,...
Greatest experience in Vietnam so far. Ms. Daphne helped us with all the enthusiasm. The transportation and accommodations exceeded our expectations, while the treks were truly unforgettable! Our guide was effortlessly leading us along the trails with confidence and grace. Throughout the journey and during village stops, she offered invaluable assistance and insightful information. For an enriching experience in Sapa, I highly recommend choosing the outstanding services of Crossing Tour company!
- Group tour - Off the beaten track in North Vietnam 8 days 7 nights
We have heard about the Vietnamese Mr Linh adventure company through friends and after trying others, we went ahead and sent them an email. Helen immediately responded and made a number of suggestions. We chose Sapa - Ha Giang - Ban Gioc - Ba Be 8 day tour and definitely didn't regret it. Everything was all done professionally from from start to finish. We had our own personal English-speaking guide for the 8 days. David Long communication skills and amount of knowledge of the different areas made the trip so enjoyable. He translated for us and took us on a lot of adventures and was very knowledgeable and personable. He answered every single question we had and knew everything about every location we went to. Our driver, he was such a gentle, easy going driver, and drove very safely and expertly through any kind of traffic. The homestay was a real highlight. Home cooked meals, and interacting with the locals was brilliant. Watching our kids play with the local kids is something I will remember forever. The tour was extremely well co-ordinated and served as a fantastic insight a spectacular part of the remote, mountainous region of Vietnam's far northeast. Helen was just amazing with any details we needed and was always easily contactable. We are so thankful for these sweet woman and she made me feel like she genuinely cares about everyone she comes in contact with, regardless of the person/money. We can't say enough good things about Mr Linh adventure company, Helen and Vietnam. Go for it! You'll be glad you did. Hopefully you will have the capable Helen to help you..
What our customers ask about Vietnam Small Group Tours
What is the ideal group size for small group tours in Vietnam?
The sweet spot for Vietnam small group tours ranges from 8-12 travelers per group. This size allows for easy navigation through narrow alleys of places like Ninh Binh's Trang An grottoes or the bustling streets of Hoi An. Wonderscape Travel maintains these numbers to ensure each guest gets individual attention. A TourRadar traveler noted: "A group of 5 people is perfect for activities like cooking classes and market visits allowing for personalized attention from guides."
What type of accommodation is typically used for small group tours in Vietnam?
These tours favor carefully chosen boutique properties and smaller hotels that larger groups pass by. In Hanoi's Old Quarter travelers often stay at the locally-run Tirant Hotel while Halong Bay features compact vessels like the Le Journey Cruise with just 12-16 cabins. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The Silkotel in Hoi An was a perfect small hotel with great service and local character that really enhanced our small group experience."
How does the cost of small group tours compare to larger group tours in Vietnam?
Small group experiences in Vietnam run between USD 80-180 daily reflecting the more focused service and select accommodations. A typical 12-day journey costs around USD 1049 covering stays at local properties like Phan Anh Hostel in Ho Chi Minh City along with hands-on experiences such as cooking workshops. A TourRadar traveler noted: "While slightly pricier the small group size meant we could stay at local homestays and get off-the-beaten-path experiences that large buses simply can't access."
What is the best starting point for a small group tour in Vietnam?
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City serve as the main gateways with Hanoi proving especially suitable for newcomers to Vietnam. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Starting in Hanoi was perfect - our small group could easily explore the Old Quarter's narrow streets and food markets with our guide before heading to Halong Bay." From here groups often stay at places like Nexy Hostel while exploring Halong Bay and Ninh Binh before heading south.
What unique experiences are available on small group tours in Vietnam that aren't possible with larger groups?
Small groups can access experiences that remain out of reach for larger tours. These include cooking in family homes meeting villagers in remote Mekong Delta communities and exploring quieter corners of Halong Bay. At Cai Rang Floating Market groups can take local sampan boats right up to vendors while boutique stays like the Tirant Hotel put you in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The small group size allowed us to stay in charming homestays and take narrow sampan boats through tiny Mekong Delta canals that big groups simply can't access."
How does transportation work with small group tours in Vietnam?
Transportation combines private minivans overnight trains and domestic flights for practical travel between destinations. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our intimate group size meant we could use comfortable minivans between destinations like Hoi An and Hue stopping at local spots that big buses can't access." Stays at central locations like Hoi An Paradise Hotel reduce transfer times while the smaller group format allows for scenic detours along routes like the Hai Van Pass.
