You'll land in Rome and have the afternoon to get your bearings in the Eternal City. Explore the neighborhood around your hotel or wander the streets a bit before heading to the Kickoff Party where you'll meet your Travel Director and the rest of your group.

Rome
This morning a Local Specialist guides you through Ancient Rome, taking you across the Tiber to see the Colosseum up close. Later on, you'll learn how to make authentic Italian pizza from scratch and then cook your creations for dinner with the family.

Rome
You're heading to Gladiator School to learn sword techniques and military skills from an expert instructor. Think of it as a hands-on history lesson. After that wraps up, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore Rome at your own pace with your family.

Rome - Pisa - Florence
The drive north through Tuscany's rolling countryside takes you past vineyards and olive groves. You'll stop at Pisa to grab photos at the famous Leaning Tower in Piazza del Duomo, then continue on to Florence. By evening you'll be checked into your hotel for a three night stay.

Florence

You'll watch traditional leatherworkers and goldsmiths demonstrate their craft, then grab gelato in the city where it originated. Tonight brings dinner at the Miari Fulcis family estate, a 15th-century Tuscan villa surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.

Today is yours to explore Florence on foot at your own pace. The city rewards wandering, so take time to get lost in the neighborhoods and find small piazzas. If you'd rather have structure, there's an optional excursion to San Gimignano, the Town of Towers, which sits about an hour away in the Tuscan hills.

- Day 7
Florence - Bologna - Venice
You'll stop in medieval Bologna to walk through the city with a Local Specialist and experience the aromas and history of Bolognese sauce. After that, you're heading to Venice, the island city built on the Adriatic. Once there, you can take an optional gondola ride through the canals to get a feel for the Queen of the Adriatic.

If you're interested, there's an optional meal on the colorful island of Burano.
