Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll arrive in Nairobi and head straight to Kenya Comfort Hotel to get settled. This is when you'll meet the rest of your group and go over what's coming up over the next 10 days. Expect a briefing about the wildlife and culture you'll encounter, so you know what to expect from the safari experience ahead.
Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 2
Nairobi to Masai Mara
Early morning departure from Nairobi toward the Masai Mara takes up most of the day. Along the way you'll stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where the dramatic escarpment really shows itself. Then you'll drive through Masai land and pass through Narok, keeping your eyes open for wildlife sightings. By evening you'll reach Mara Springs Safari Camp and can settle in for the night.

Landmarks Great Rift Valley Masai Mara National Reserve 

- Day 3
Masai Mara
You'll wake up before sunrise to head out on a game drive into the Masai Mara Reserve searching for the Big 5. This reserve has incredible wildlife populations, and the morning drive gives you the best chance of seeing them active. After returning to camp for breakfast and rest, you can choose to visit a traditional Masai Manyatta hamlet to learn about local life. By evening you'll head back to watch the sunset and spend time around the campfire.

Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 4
Masai Mara to Eldoret
Early departure from the Masai Mara and you'll drive through Kericho where Kenya's tea plantations cover the landscape. The route takes you down the Rift Valley Plateau, and the scenery changes pretty dramatically as you descend. You'll head toward Eldoret, then set up camp at Greenwoods Resort and Camp for the night.

- Day 5
Eldoret to Kampala, Uganda
You'll cross into Uganda today and drive to Kampala, the capital city. This is your first real taste of what people call the Pearl of Africa, with its natural beauty, lakes, and wildlife spread throughout the region. You'll stay at Red Chilli Hideaway, which sits with views of the city, giving you a sense of Kampala's energy before exploring more.

Landmarks Lake Victoria - Days 6 - 7
Kampala to Lake Bunyoni
An early start from Kampala takes you west into Uganda's interior toward Lake Bunyoni, which sits in a crater and runs deeper than any other lake in Africa. The area is home to a huge variety of bird species, and if you're interested, this is where optional gorilla trekking adventures can happen. You'll have time to explore the tranquil lake region and prepare for the treks if you want to do them.

Lake Bunyoni to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your time at Lake Bunyoni, you'll head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a full day of game driving. The park is known for its large elephant herds, so you'll likely see plenty of them. If you want, there's an optional boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. Tonight you'll stay at Forest Hog Camp just outside the park.

Landmarks Queen Elizabeth National Park Kazinga Channel - Day 10
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala
You'll head back toward Kampala, and along the way you'll cross the Equator for the second time. There's a classic photo stop where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere, which is pretty fun. Once you reach Kampala, the tour wraps up and you'll exchange contact information with the other travelers you've gotten to know over the past 10 days.
