I'm interested in this itinerary. We are a group of four seniors, all around 60 years old, and we are not able to do a 3-day trek. Is there any alternative option available?

You are able to select the 'Machu Picchu by Train' option and opt out of the hike on this tour. You will have more time in Cusco and will take the train and a bus up to Machu Picchu and will rejoin anyone in your group who hiked there.

What is the climate in the month of July? What is the camping accommodations like?

MAY-SEPT is considered the high season in Peru where the weather is ideal for trekking and camping (Peru has a wet and dry season for weather and JULY will be their dry season). The days will be pleasant but mornings/evenings will be very cold in the Andes. About Accommodation: Please note that hot water shortages and power outages can be fairly common in Peru (even in upgraded hotels and private homes). We appreciate your patience and understanding that these occurrences are outside of our control. 3 Nights Camping: If your trip includes the Inca Trail or Lares Trek, we use three-person tents to accommodate two travellers, leaving room for your sleeping mats and sleeping bags (not provided, but available for rent). There are a few places along the trail with permanent (very basic) toilet facilities and we also set up private toilet tents for the use of G travellers.

Will I be escorted by a guide during the trek?

Yes, the trek is guided, and the guides will adjust the pace based on the slowest member of the group to ensure everyone's comfort.

Does this tour include international flights?

Our tours do not include international airfare, allowing travelers to join us from any location worldwide.

Are there programs where I can visit Peru and Machu Picchu with limited physical condition (2 hours walking, some climbing but not much)? I am 68 years old.

We have tours that visit Machu Picchu via train and spend ~2 hours walking around Machu Picchu, instead of hiking the Inca Trail to get there. This tour, Inca Discovery, can be done with the "Cusco Stay" option instead of the Inca Trail or Lares Trek, which would hike.

Should I be concerned about adjusting to high altitudes during the tour?

The tour includes acclimatization time in higher altitudes. However, individual responses to altitude vary, so consult your doctor if you are concerned.

Accommodations (with one exception) were great, and all had an included breakfast buffet. The tour's included activities (e.g. cooking class, pisco tour and tasting, potato park, boat tour of Isla Ballestas) were terrific. Appreciated the two included flights which saved a lot of driving time. Logistics were handled, and everything was smooth and easy (thanks to our CEO, Mary Chu!).Show more

Got lucky and met the nicest group of people! The guides were all excellent at their job, knowledgeable and very friendly. One small downside was the organisation. Some guides would tell us, oh the guide tomorrow will let you know the details. However when the following day came, the guide would tell us oh your guide yesterday should have explained all the details. Its only a minor thing but organisation and communication could have been better. But a great experience overall and j would be happy to travel with G Adventures again!Show more

  It depends what departure date you are interested in, as there are limited Machu Picchu tickets available each day. Currently the first available date with Machu Picchu tickets is 23AUG25. However this tour date would be on request as we are so close to departure. This means it is not an instant confirmation - it would take 3-4 business days to hear back once payment has been made to start the request process.
