Had an awesome time with Steve and Peter on our 18 day tour. Steve was awesome at organising my food as I needed gluten and dairy free. He requested changes at our dinners and I was very happy with this. Thank you for that effort. His knowledge of Europe is incredible and he has interesting facts and story’s to tell. Steve was very approachable and would answer question even the silly ones. I had an awesome time on this tour.

Fantastic 18 days! I would definitely use Expat again. The tour is extremely walking-intensive and you are basically required to get up at around 6 AM every day. However, it allows you to add more adventure into your day. Optional excursions jack up the price a bit, so be prepared to spend an extra few hundred Euros if you want to do everything. If you choose not to do some excursions, you have free time to explore cities at your leisure and do what you want to do. Although this is advertised as 8 countries, technically you get to visit 10 if you count UK (starting point), Monaco and Vatican City. (Don’t exactly remember what the advertised 8 are). I cannot say enough positive things about Karina. Easily the most fun and creative tour leader I’ve ever had. She was extremely knowledgeable about every place we went, and her organization skills are on a whole other level (considering how many places you visit, it truely is amazing). I was in awe over how she could spew out names, dates, and trivia. She can strike up conversation with anyone on the bus at any given moment, making it feel like she’s known you for years. She knows all the best places to check out on your free time. Some of us even hung out with her during our free time, which really helped us have the greatest experience. She and the bus driver, Ioannis, had a great dynamic. He is also a really nice guy and a great driver. If you have never been on a bus tour before, DO IT! You WILL make friends. When you spend that much time on a bus with people it is hard not to. Plus, people who sign up for this lengthy of a trip to foreign countries are generally pretty open-minded. Our bus was a huge mix (American, Colombian, Indian, South African, Australian, British, Virgin Islanders) and it was fun getting to know them all while learning about life in their home countries. There is a clockwise seat rotation on the bus after every location, so you get to sit next to new people each time. Also, most people will get a chance to get that coveted first seat. *tip: when you first get on the bus, aim for the passenger’s side (UK vehicle) for the best chance of ever sitting up front. Overall, great value for our money spent. This is not a luxury vacation by any means. Some hotels are a bit outside of the cities visited (ex.- Barcelona was about a 20-30 min train ride away). This allows them to give you a better price. Hotels were always near public transportation and always have free breakfast and free wi-fi. Rooms can be extremely tiny. But, it isn’t about the room. It is about the experience outside of that room. I thought almost all the meals included were fantastic, save for one that was extremely bland. Such an amazing experience!

My first bus tour - not my last. Great value for money, Expat. Well organised. A smorgasbord of Europe, giving me a taste of many countries in 18 days. Cannot say enough about how great Karina was - she went out of her way to make sure we had a fantastic trip, with memories to last a lifetime.
