My experience has been mixed, the start of the tour was difficult being the sole English speaker on a tour with all Spanish speaking travellers. It was an isolating experience, even though I was able to connect with a few travellers. Other English speaking people joined the tour and it was a much better experience. Europamondo's approach to scheduling tours in theory allows travellers to flexibly choose where they travel, in practice its more chaotic. At one point i hac my luggage on a bus that I wasnt on. I did a 13 day tour, in that time I had 4 guides 3 different buses and different people joining and leaving our bus every other day, if not daily. It also explains why accommodation isnt confirmed until 2 days before the trip starts. I selected the option to share with another solo traveller if it was available so I didnt have to pay the single traveller tax and it was great I only shared with someone for 2 nights of the whole trip. It would have been good to be notified on the days I would be sharing to avoid any awkward encounters. Hotels are often not in the centre of cities which can make it difficult to explore in the evenings. Having breakfast included each morning was great. I did really like that we had a mix of the smaller towns as well as the city hubs, not just all the tourist hubs. I disliked that I felt rushed the majority of the time, we rarely had enough time to see things in the towns more than just walking past. Sometimes it was a choice between eating lunch or seeing a site because there wasn't enough time to do both. There was 2 buses and at one point 3 buses doing the route so when we stopped we would have 2 or 3 bus loads seeing a town or lining up for the toilets. Having this many people was actually a bonus when it came to the Hungarian folk dinner. It was actually the highlight of the trip for me having all the tour groups come together for a night of delicious food, great entertainment and seeing some of the travellers invited on the stage. It was such a fun night! Sadly the negatives outweighed my experience and I wont be travelling with Europamondo again.Show more
