DO NOT book any Tours through Europamundo. Stick with the better-known Operators, even if you have to book two years in advance. They are terrible. From the day we joined our Great European Cities 9 Day tour we experienced nothing but problems. The company's whole system of a different guide, different coach with folks leaving and getting added to the group every day made the whole tour a "Gong Show". We experienced delay after delay. Not just a few minutes but in most cases, hours. Our guides seemed just as stressed, tired and frustrated by the operation as were we. In addition, the guides were not well versed in the locations being visited. Very little information was given by the tour guides. We were expecting to be told about the areas and places we were seeing and visiting along the way. That did not happen and when asked questions they had very few explanations other than to say that was not the way they conducted business and that it was because we were from Canada and that other nationalities did not expect this type of service. Our tour was advertised as being in English. Lengthy explanations were given in Spanish but not English. We became aware of this because we noticed that English words and notable names that could not be translated would be used in the Spanish explanations but not repeated in the English version. It would appear that this company makes special effort to satisfy their Spanish speaking travelers. Things such as pre planned meals and pre-arranged venue admission were include in their tours but others were never given that option. As a result, we did not get to enter the Palace of Versailles. While the Spanish group got into the 9:00am showing, we were left to fend for ourselves. The queue for "group purchases" was about 4 deep, with the queue for individual purchasers was 30 to 40 deep. By the time it was our turn to purchase a ticket the next showing was at 1:00pm. Our coach left the site at 11:15am. Our tour guide could have easily purchase the group ticket option, instead we got to buy a coffee while waiting for the "Lucky Ones" to view the palace. We experienced lengthy delays on several occasions. This caused missed meals, and very late arrivals at our hotels. We hardly had a chance to warm up the bed before a 6:30am breakfast call. One evening we did not arrive at our hotel until 10:30pm. That evening we were taken to a roadside convenience area for supper. It was closed and why not at 9:00pm. When I asked the guide where we could get dinner I was told to "buy a bag of potato chips and a coke". To top it all off, I had paid for the optional excursions before leaving home. The excursions never happened (due to lack of numbers and in one case laziness on the guides part). The situation was reported to Europamundo (aka Euro NO FUN DO) to date I have not been refunded my 420 EUR ($623 CAD). With no means of contacting a live person I am not holding out much hope of getting my money back. We are seasoned Travellers and know things happen but this trip was a trip from Hell. Please note that any change of guide or coach is solely based on operational reasons, offering flexibility to our clients. Fellow travelers may have different itineraries and need to change guides or coaches to join the next group for the subsequent segment of their circuit. As indicated in your itinerary, the schedules are approximate. The guide may adjust the schedules depending on the situation to improve the development of the circuit. If you are referring to the Eiffel Tower visit, please note that the local government does not permit group visits to be booked in advance, and the tour guide must provide the tickets at the entrance. This measure was taken to avoid creating a black market for the tickets. Additionally, we have over 2000 different itineraries, each including different services and activities. Furthermore, as outlined in our terms and conditions available on our website, TourRadar, and your "My Trip" portal, all our overland routes, whether group or private, are accompanied by English-speaking tour leaders and local guides if specified. In cases of bilingual groups, our guides hold a minimum B2 (Upper Intermediate) English certificate, ensuring seamless communication and historical narration in both English and Spanish. Should any difficulty arise in understanding the guide, passengers are encouraged to request clearer communication or contact our emergency numbers. Guide reassignments can be arranged if the issue persists. Regrettably, no communications were received from you via our emergency 24/7 hotline and WhatsApp, hindering our ability to address your concerns promptly. As indicated in your "My Trip" link, a minimum number of passengers must be met for optional excursions to take place. If we do not meet this number, we need to cancel the tour, and a full refund is always provided to the passengers. Your optional excursions were fully refunded on 13.10.2023 and 15.10.2023. Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 16th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 16th, 2026, a minimum payment of $125 is required to confirm your booking with Europamundo. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 50 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
