Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get transferred to your hotel, giving you time to drop off your bags and settle in. Stop by the hotel reception in the afternoon to check the boards for information about your tour activities.

- Day 2
Rome
Spend the morning on a three-hour guided tour that combines walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo, wrapping up at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m. The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel visit is optional. Later in the evening, you'll transfer to Trastevere for dinner at a local restaurant, heading back to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.

Rome
This day is yours to explore Rome on your own schedule. If you're interested in a day trip, optional excursions are available depending on the season. From April to October, you can visit the island of Capri. From November to March, Naples and Pompeii are the options instead.

- Day 4
Rome - Orvieto - Castiglione del Lago - Siena
You'll travel through Umbria starting in Orvieto, a medieval city perched on a flat hilltop. Check out the views from the viewpoint, take the escalators up to the medieval center, and see the Gothic cathedral. After that, head to Castiglione del Lago on Lake Trasimeno's shore for a walk and lunch. Then continue to Siena in Tuscany, where you'll spend the afternoon checking out Piazza del Campo and the Duomo.

- Day 5
Siena - Monteriggioni - San Gimignano - Florence
Leaving Siena, you'll stop in Monteriggioni, a charming medieval village with cobbled streets and old walls surrounding it. Next comes San Gimignano, known for its tall medieval towers. After lunch, you'll head to Florence, arriving in the early afternoon. Spend your time exploring the historic center at your own pace, and think about visiting one of the museums like the Uffizi Gallery or the Accademia Gallery (note they're closed Mondays).

Florence
Start at the Michelangelo viewpoint for expansive views of the city, then walk to the historic center for a guided tour. You'll see the Gothic Cathedral (Duomo di Firenze), the ancient Ponte Vecchio with its goldsmith shops, and Piazza della Signoria. After the guided portion ends, you'll have free time to explore more on your own.

You'll depart Florence heading to Pisa, where you can take in the artistic ensemble including the famous Leaning Tower. From there, continue along the Italian Riviera to Sestri Levante for lunch and a stroll around this seaside resort town. Later you'll head toward the French Riviera, arriving in Monte Carlo in the mid-afternoon where you can check out the historic casino. Your final stop is Nice, where you'll arrive around 8:00 p.m.

A panoramic coach tour takes you through Nice along the iconic Promenade des Anglais with coastal views, through Massena Square, and to the charming old port. You'll travel to Sainte-Maxime to walk through its historic center and picturesque port with its 16th-century Square Tower. Then you'll board a scenic boat crossing the bay to Saint-Tropez, where you can explore the old fishing port and enjoy lunch with free time. In the afternoon, continue to Marseille to see the lively Old Port.

Then head to Avignon, a walled city on the Rhône's banks where you can walk around and have lunch. See the Palace of the Popes, which once served as the seat of the Catholic popes. Stop at Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous Roman monument, before heading toward Catalonia and arriving in Barcelona in the evening.

Barcelona

You'll have the rest of the afternoon free to explore at your own pace before returning to your hotel.

Continue to Valencia, arriving around lunchtime, and try the famous local paella. Around 4:30 p.m., you'll see the avant-garde City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia before heading to Madrid. You'll arrive in Madrid between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m., then transfer to Plaza Mayor for dinner at one of its restaurants.
