This trip takes you through some of Egypt's most iconic highlights, including Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, the temples of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, and a Nile River cruise. You'll experience Egypt's fascinating ancient history, local culture, and famous landmarks while travelling with a local leader and a small group. The trip includes accommodation throughout the journey: Hotel (5 nights), Overnight train (2 nights), Felucca (1 night). Transport will be via Private vehicle, Felucca and Overnight sleeper train. There will be a total of 8 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 4 dinners. Regarding the optional activities, the Saqqara and Memphis Urban Adventure is the only optional experience that can be pre-booked in advance. All other optional activities do not need to be booked beforehand and can be arranged during the tour with the assistance of your tour leader.

We are really interested in doing the Essential Egypt Tour, but we have a tight budget. I have seen that the one that starts on 29Mar is much cheaper, but does not fit our schedule. Sorry to ask, but would there be an option to have a discount in the one that departs on the 25th, please?

At this time, the only discounts we're able to offer are those that are officially published and available on our website. Unfortunately, we're not able to apply additional discretionary discounts outside of current promotions. If your dates are flexible even slightly, I'd be happy to check nearby departures that may offer better value.

Is there any avialability on 17th Dec tour. Also do you have one for older adults? I am 50 this tour says age limit as 35. Is there any tour before 24?

The Essential Egypt trip falls under the 18 to 35s travel theme, and therefore we are unable to accommodate any requests that fall outside the age limit for this departure. However, I have linked few of our Egypt trips that are open for travelers above 15 years and let us know if you are interested in any one of them.

Is it possible to join the tour if I was born in 1989?

Did the participants frequently go to the optional tour of Abu Simbel on their travel tours so far? Or did they have few opportunities to go there?

This would be booked in destination with the group and that is where we will determine if we have enough travelers to arrange everything.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before November 12th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 12th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
