Stuttgart to Como
Your coach departs Stuttgart and heads toward Lake Como, passing through countryside on the way. Once you arrive and check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to spend. You can wander through Como's old town center or walk along the lakeside, getting a feel for the place before things start tomorrow.

- Day 2
Lake Como
A boat takes you out on the lake this morning, starting with Bellagio, a town that sits on a peninsula with views looking down both arms of the lake and toward the Alps. From there, head to Bellano, a small fishing village, then catch a bus to Lecco. The return trip to Como gives you time to settle back before evening.

Como and Villa Carlotta
Walk through Como's medieval old town, checking out the squares, local cafes, and the cathedral. After grabbing lunch, you'll take a boat across to Tremezzo to visit Villa Carlotta. The gardens there have terraced sections with azaleas, rhododendrons, citrus trees, and fountains scattered throughout the grounds.

Varese to Lake Maggiore
Travel from Como to Varese, known as the Garden City. You'll see the 18th-century Palazzo Estense and learn about Sacro Monte di Varese, which has a series of Palladian chapels. Later, head to Baveno on Lake Maggiore for your next hotel. The evening is open for wandering around town or taking in the lakeside.

Lake Maggiore - Borromean Islands
Stay in Baveno or join an optional boat trip to the Borromean Islands. If you go, you'll visit Isola Bella first, walking through its Baroque palace and gardens, then continue to Isola dei Pescatori, the only inhabited island in the group and a working fishing village. It's back to your hotel by evening.

Monte Mottarone
This morning takes you to Alpinia botanical garden on Mount Mottarone's slopes. The garden has alpine plants, medicinal herbs, and panoramic views looking out over Lake Maggiore and the mountains. You'll see rhododendrons, ferns, and heather from places like the Pyrenees and Himalayas. After lunch, head to Stresa, a historic spa town with shops along the water and squares in the old section.

Lake Maggiore - Optional Vercelli
You have a relaxed day in Baveno, or there's an optional excursion to Vercelli if you prefer something more active. That trip includes a rice farm visit to see how it's grown and processed, a rice tasting at lunch, and a short walk around town before returning to Baveno.

Verbania and Villa Taranto
Head to Verbania, the largest city on the lake, and spend time in the Pallanza district with its villas and gardens. Villa Taranto is the main stop, with 20 hectares of grounds featuring beech trees, rhododendrons, tulips, eucalypts, and plants from various regions around the world. Tonight there's a special dinner celebrating the tour.
