I was pretty unhappy with G Adventures at the beginning as I had expressed concerns with my health and wanted to cancel but they wouldn’t refund my money. However, the guide that I had, Andrei, was so incredible. He was so comforting, helpful, kind, and fun. I was so scared going into it but Andrei was so amazing and I truly could not have asked for a better guide. If I could give him a million stars I would.

Best time to visit Germany and Italy
- Spring 2026
The spring season opens up excellent touring options between Germany and Italy, with pleasant weather and fewer tourist crowds making it ideal for exploration. Multi-country ski tours run through April starting with a Munich pickup in a Mercedes, taking you to exceptional slopes across Garmisch-Partenkirchen, St. Anton, and Alta Badia. Between skiing, guests can join hands-on pretzel workshops in traditional Bavarian kitchens and explore the grandeur of Neuschwanstein Castle with expert guides. As temperatures climb, cyclists take to the Munich-Venice routes, pedaling through the Isar floodplains past ancient monasteries and quaint Bavarian settlements before entering Austria's Karwendel Nature Park. The journey continues into the Pustertal valley of Italy, where the Dolomite mountains create perfect cycling conditions for riders of all levels. Many travelers appreciate the train-assisted portions, especially from Innsbruck to the Brenner Pass, followed by smooth descents along former railway tracks through historic Sterzing, medieval Bruneck and other charming towns.

- Summer 2026
Summer opens up all sorts of outdoor options between Germany and Italy. The Alpine Escape route is a real hit, with boat rides around Lake Constance and stops at Mainau Island's summer gardens. Another solid choice mixes Venice's food scene with Florence's market walks - our guides know just when to duck out of the midday heat. Active types love our cycling route from Munich to Lake Garda; you'll pedal through Bavarian villages and follow the Isar river before hitting Italian wine country. Mountain tours through the Dolomites really come alive in summer, with cable car trips up Marmolada giving you clear views across the peaks.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall fills the German-Italian routes with color, especially along the wine trails. Cultural tours line up perfectly with harvest festivals - you'll try new wines in Verona with local cheese and meat while watching vineyards turn golden. The Munich to Venice bike routes feel just right in autumn, with cool temps perfect for riding past South Tyrol's apple orchards and medieval castles. Our Dolomites walks take on a special feel as larches turn yellow against limestone peaks. Many of our travelers pick this season for food tours, joining market walks in Florence when fall produce hits its peak and trying seasonal dishes in Rome's neighborhood spots.
