- Day 1
Cairo
You'll arrive in Cairo and check in at your hotel. This evening at 6 pm, meet your tour director and the rest of your group for a welcome dinner. It's a good chance to get settled and learn what's coming over the next week.

- Day 2
Giza
Start the day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum to see artifacts from ancient dynasties. From there, head to Giza where you'll see the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids, including the Pyramid of Cheops. The scale of these structures really hits you when you're standing in front of them.

- Day 3
Cairo to Luxor
Fly from Cairo to Luxor this morning, then board your Nile River cruise ship. After having lunch on board, join a guided tour of Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Both sites contain massive columns, hieroglyphics, and remnants of what were once thriving ancient cities with enormous populations.

- Day 4
Luxor to Edfu
You have the morning to yourself in Luxor or you can sign up for an optional West Bank excursion. Later, there's a Captain's welcome cocktail party on board. The ship then sails toward Edfu, so you'll spend the afternoon and evening cruising along the river.

- Day 5
Kom Ombo
Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu early in the day. After lunch while sailing, you'll reach Kom Ombo where a guided walk takes you through twin temples built on a bluff overlooking the river. One temple honored the crocodile god and the other the falcon god. Tonight there's a Galabeya party on board where you can wear traditional Egyptian garments.

Kom Ombo to Aswan
Sail toward Aswan as the landscape shifts. You'll take a felucca ride, which is a traditional wooden sailing boat, around Kitchener's Island and past the Mausoleum of Aga Khan. It's a quieter way to see the river. After returning to the ship, there's a Nubian Folklore presentation in the evening.

Aswan
Leave the cruise ship this morning. Spend your afternoon and evening exploring Aswan on your own, or you can visit the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk if you prefer organized activities. Either way, you have flexibility to see what interests you most.

- Day 8
Aswan to Cairo
Fly back to Cairo this morning. You'll have free time in the afternoon to walk through the city on your own or check out specific neighborhoods. Later, head to your hotel for a farewell dinner with the group to wrap up your Egypt portion of the trip.

- Day 9
Cairo to Amman
Fly from Cairo to Amman, Jordan today. Meet your tour director when you arrive, then settle in at your hotel. Over dinner this evening, you'll get an overview of Jordan's history as a crossroads connecting Africa, Asia, and Europe, with sites ranging from the Dead Sea to ancient ruins.

- Day 10
Amman to Wadi Rum
Head into Wadi Rum, also called the Valley of the Moon, for a 4-wheel drive adventure through red desert landscape. You'll see the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, formations famous from Lawrence of Arabia stories. Spend the night at a luxury Bedouin camp under the stars in the desert.

- Day 11
Wadi Rum to Petra
Travel to Petra for a guided walk down the Siq, a narrow gorge cutting through rock. When you emerge, you'll see the Treasury, an enormous structure carved directly from rose-colored sandstone. The site contains temples, tombs, and other carved structures. Later, visit a traditional Bedouin tent for tea and conversation.

Petra to Dead Sea
Head to Madaba to see St. George's Church and check out the Madaba Archaeological Museum, which has Byzantine mosaics and the oldest known map of Palestine. Continue to Mount Nebo for views of where Moses supposedly saw the promised land, then stop at Bethany Beyond the Jordan for an orientation walk. By afternoon you'll reach the Dead Sea with time to relax before a final dinner.
