Baveno
You'll arrive at Milan Malpensa or Turin Airport and head to Baveno, a charming lakeside town on Lake Maggiore. Once you settle in, you can take your time exploring the waterfront promenade or wandering through the quiet streets at your own pace. Later that evening, you'll join other travelers for a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Baveno

- Day 3
Baveno - Borromean Islands
You'll board a boat for a full-day trip to the Borromean Islands. First stop is Isola Bella, where you'll see the famous Baroque Palace and its Italian terraced gardens complete with white peacocks. Then you'll head to Fisherman's Island, the only permanently inhabited one, to walk through narrow lanes and visit the Church of San Vittore, with time to grab lunch. After that comes Isola Madre, where you can wander through 20 acres of English-style botanical gardens filled with rare plants and exotic flowers, plus tour the 16th-century Borromean family summer home. You'll return to Baveno in the afternoon.

Baveno - Lake Orta - Orta
After breakfast, a coach will take you to Omegna at the northern tip of Lake Orta. You'll travel through charming villages on your way to the southern end of the lake, then board a boat to the medieval village of Orta, sometimes called 'Venice without water'. Once there, you can explore the narrow cobbled streets and see the many chapels dedicated to St Francis of Assisi. The return journey to your hotel happens in the afternoon.

Baveno - Domodossola - Locarno
After breakfast, you'll travel by coach through the Ossola Valley to Domodossola. From there, you'll board a narrow-gauge railway for a scenic ride that crosses 83 bridges and passes through 31 tunnels on its way to the Swiss town of Locarno at the northern tip of Lake Maggiore. You'll have free time for lunch, shopping, and looking around before heading back to your hotel by coach in the afternoon.
