- Day 1
Arrival in Amsterdam
You'll arrive in Amsterdam and get picked up at the airport for your transfer to the Emerald Cruises Star-Ship. The captain and crew will be waiting to welcome you aboard, so you can settle in and get oriented before things kick off.

Alkmaar
Spend the morning in Alkmaar checking out the Dutch town's historic center and canals. The centuries-old cheese market is there if you want to see it, or there's an optional bike tour through the countryside if you prefer. That afternoon you'll sail on the Rhine River, and there's a welcome dinner this evening once you're settled on board.

Cologne
A walking tour takes you through Düsseldorf so you can see the stylish boutiques and charming Old Town along the Rhine River. From there, you'll continue to Cologne where the famous Gothic Cathedral is on the agenda, and you'll have time to experience the city's lively atmosphere throughout the day.

Koblenz
The ship takes you to Koblenz for a walking tour of this Roman town. You'll see the Church of Our Lady and the German Corner where two European rivers meet. After that, you'll sail through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rhine Gorge, where you can see romantic castles and medieval villages from the ship.

Heidelberg
In Heidelberg, a UNESCO City of Literature, there's a guided tour showing you the Renaissance ruins of Heidelberg Castle and its beautiful gardens. If you'd rather be more active, there's a hike with great views over the city as an alternative. Later this evening, you'll hear a private concert in a historical venue.

Freiburg

Departure from Freiburg
