  • Will there be laundry facilities onboard?

    Guests staying in an Owner's One-bedroom Suite can take advantage of four items laundered daily, free of charge, while guests staying in Grand Balcony Suites are allocated two complimentary items daily. Laundry services are available to all other guests for a fee. There is no dry cleaning available.

  • Are hairdryers available on board?

    Hairdryers are available in all cabins on all Emerald Cruises ships.

  • What language will be spoken on board the cruise?

    The language on board is English. All staff, crew and tour guides speak English and all announcements and lectures will be made in English.

  • What currency will be used during the river cruise?

    Most countries visited in Europe will use the Euro, although some still have their own local currency. For small purchases ashore or in small towns, the local currency is recommended. Countries in Southeast Asia will use their own, local currency.

  • What currency is used on board my European river cruise?

    All purchases onboard are charged to your shipboard account. The onboard currency on the ships is the Euro. Shipboard accounts may be paid in cash in Euros or by credit card.

  • Are bicycles available to use on board my river cruise?

    Complimentary bicycles are available on board for guests to use at any time. Once you are onboard bikes should be reserved with the Guest Services desk.

  • Is coffee & tea available on board?

    You will find tea and coffee machines located in the Horizon Bar and Lounge, and also in the pool area at the ship's stern.

  • Are there other tours outside the itinerary available during the cruise?

    During your cruise, you can book a range of optional activities, or Discover More tours, for a number of destinations throughout your cruise. You can book these once onboard the ship or by contacting our Customer Support team. Please note optional tours are at an additional cost, subject to availability and seasonal operation and may be subject to minimum/maximum numbers.

  • Are there Salon and Spa services available on the cruise?

    On board, all ships guests may take advantage of the salon & massage services at an additional expense. Pricing & appointments are available once on board.

  • Are there fitness facilities on board the ship?

    All Star-Ships feature a Fitness Room with exercise machines and free weights for guests to use.

  • Is WI-FI available throughout the cruise?

    There is complimentary Wi-Fi onboard, however, please note that Wi-Fi connection availability and speed will vary depending on where the ship is positioned and the number of users. Guests staying in an Owner's One-bedroom Suite will have complimentary use of an iPad throughout the cruise.

  • How much walking will be involved on the cruises?

    All of the itineraries include excursions which involve a certain amount of walking to tour each destination, occasionally over uneven streets and up and down stairs. When there is included walking tours one group will always be designated as slower paced so it is suitable for all levels.

  • Can I use mobility equipment during my river cruise?

    Emerald
    welcomes disabled guests but wishes all guests to understand that limitations could exist on board and during shore excursions. The elevators on their ships service three out of four decks, with access to the sun deck only possible using stairs. Under appropriate circumstances, guests are welcome to use collapsible wheelchairs on board. Many tours are conducted from motor coaches, so guests need to be able to climb up and down the stairs to board. Some shore excursions may require movement over cobblestones or up and down stairs; accordingly, guests with limited mobility will require the services of a responsible companion to be travelling with them. If you have any medical, physical or other special needs, please contact our Customer Support team when making your booking.

  • Are tips & gratuities included in the cost of the river cruise?

    All tipping and gratuities for both onboard and shoreside staff are included in the price of your Emerald Cruises cruise.

  • What is the luggage allowance on the ship?

    You’re entitled to carry one suitcase per person, with the total sum of its length, width and height not exceeding 62 inches/158 cm and weight 44 lbs/20 kg. Please note that excess baggage is always at your own expense.

  • I have a pre-existing medical condition, what should I do?

    If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or mobility difficulties, you should inform our Customer Support team at the time of booking.

  • Is there a clothing packing list for my river cruise?

    During the day Emerald C recommends casual and comfortable clothing. Please bring comfortable walking shoes as you will need these daily while sightseeing, which includes walking over rough and uneven ground. For winter months a warm coat, gloves, water-resistant footwear and an umbrella is recommended. Dinner attire is casual-open-neck shirts, slacks and dresses. Coats and ties may be worn but are not required. On certain evenings, such as Welcome and Farewell Dinners, you might like to dress up.

  • Can personal electrical equipment be used onboard?

    Electricity on board all ships is 220V and a Continental European plug will be required to use small appliances such as electric shavers and mobile phone chargers etc. Emerald does not provide the required adapters so you will need to take them with you.
