San Cristobal Island, Galapagos
After flying to San Cristobal Island, you'll check out the Interpretation Center to learn about Galapagos natural history. Then you'll head up Tijeretas Hill to spot frigate birds, then visit a reserve to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat and lava tunnels. Following lunch, you'll board the MC Hermes for a three-night stay on the ship.

Galapagos Islands
You'll spend time at Gardner Bay on Española Island exploring the white-sand beach and looking for Galapagos sea lions, mockingbirds, marine iguanas, and blue-footed boobies. Later you'll take a coastal walk along Punta Suarez, a clifftop bird sanctuary where you might see red-billed tropic birds, swallow-tailed gulls, and wandering albatrosses.

Floreana Island, Galapagos
The ship sails to Floreana Island where you'll visit Cormorant Point and its large lagoon with pink flamingos. You'll explore the beach area, an important nesting site for Pacific green sea turtles, then swim or snorkel at Champion Islet among reef fish, sea lions, and white-tipped reef sharks. Later you'll stop at Post Office Bay to learn its history and look for Darwin finches and lava lizards.

Charles Darwin Research Station to Quito

Quito
A guided city tour takes you through Independence Square, Carondelet Presidential Palace, and the baroque Jesuit church of La Compañía de Jesús. You'll go up El Panecillo hill for views of Quito and the surrounding volcanoes, and see the Madonna statue replica at the top. In the afternoon you'll head to the Middle of the World Monument to stand on the dividing line between hemispheres, then have lunch at a local restaurant.

A panoramic city tour covers Lima's World Heritage Historic Centre, the Basilica and Convent of San Agustín, and Plaza Mayor. You'll then head to the Larco Museum, set in an 18th-century viceroy's mansion, for a guided tour of Peruvian artifacts and lunch in the bougainvillea-covered gardens. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore on your own.
