  I was really disappointed in this tour. Firstly, I was travelling in India alone and specifically booked a group tour so that I wouldn't have to be on my own, so you can imagine my surprise when the taxi driver arrived and told me that I was the only one on the tour. When I queried this with Belinda from BeMe Travels, she said that they can't guarantee that other people will book. I understand that, but I can't understand why they couldn't inform me in advance to give me the chance to re-think my plans. Belinda later said that there was an error in their system which meant that my booking came through as a private booking, hence why I was alone. So I received two conflicting stories and it's still not clear what's actually true. I had three different tour guides during the trip - all were eager to hurry me around the sights as quickly as possible and were very pushy about me leaving a tip. By far the worst was JP, my guide for the Taj Mahal and Agra fort. His main priority was rushing me around the sights as quickly as humanly possible, even continuing to walk off into the distance if I would stop to take a photo. I can't believe that I got this opportunity to see one of the seven wonders of the world but that I was back in the car again within 45 minutes. He dropped me back at the hotel at 7am and said I had to be ready at 8am to go to Agra Fort - never mind that the hotel only serves breakfast from 7.30am, leaving me only half an hour to eat. Whilst the tour description states that the price includes a tour guide for all parts of the tour, after the Agra Fort tour, the tour guide JP did not get back into the car. I was then taken to Fatehpur Sikri where I was handed over to another tour guide and was expected to pay him extra in cash. Please be aware that pretty much all tour guides have commission agreements with local shops and vendors, so all tours will involve being dropped off at some kind of bazar where there is a strong expectation for you to buy things. I did not want to buy anything and when I made this clear, the guides instantly became hostile. The guide at Fatehpur Sikri (Hassan) said he would be my guide for 2-3 hours, but after I didn't buy anything at any of the 3 different vendors he tried to take me to, he quickly became hostile and took me back to the car within 30 minutes. I was back at my hotel by 2pm on the second day and felt so unsettled by all the events of that day that I did not leave the hotel for the rest of the day. Whilst the tour description mentions using this day to explore Agra, Agra is unfortunately a very rundown and dirty city where, as a Western tourist, you will get harrassed everywhere you go. This was a total waste of an afternoon and evening and I think it would have been much better to drive back to Delhi that day already. On top of all this, the hotel in Agra (Orange Hotel) was very run down and dirty. The first room they offered me had stains all over the walls and dead bugs around the room and on the pillows. The staff were very pushy and would constantly call me on my room phone to tell me to come down for dinner or breakfast - just why?! I'm giving this tour two stars instead of one as my driver Imtiaz was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. He was probably the only positive part of this experience. It's been 10 days since my return and I'm still yet to hear more clarity about why I was made to travel alone and why I was charged for another tour guide. Overall I don't wish this experience on anyone and I would never use BeMe Travels again.Show more
