You'll arrive in Lucerne and have the day to explore at your own pace. Walk around the squares and churches along the Reuss River, seeing how the town blends old and new together. The city center has good shopping if that interests you, or just wander the streets and get a feel for the place.

Lucerne
A guided walking tour takes you through Lucerne's historic sites. You'll see the Lion Monument, walk through the Old Town, cross the iconic Chapel Bridge, visit the Water Tower, and stop at the beautiful Jesuit Church. The tour hits all the major spots that make the city worth seeing.

Lucerne to Breisach
Head out on an excursion to Mount Pilatus or Mount Stanserhorn depending on what's accessible (seasonal conditions matter here). You'll get great views across central Switzerland from the top. If weather doesn't cooperate, you'll visit the Swiss Transport Museum instead. Board your ship in the evening and start cruising toward Breisach.

Breisach to Kehl
The Adventure Center in Breisach lets you pick what appeals to you. Take a bike ride along the Rhine if that sounds good, or head into the Black Forest to see an open-air museum, water mill, and watch a butter-making demonstration. Freiburg's medieval center is another option. You can also visit Colmar in the morning before activities. Evening cruise brings you to Kehl.

La Petite France is worth seeing too. Optional excursions include the Maginot Line, Alsace wine country, or just spend time wandering museums and the city center. You'll cruise to Mainz in the evening.

After your morning activity, there's evening entertainment on board before you sail to Rüdesheim.
