Alice Springs
After picking up your rental car, you'll head into Alice Springs to get a feel for the town. Todd Mall has plenty of souvenir shops and art galleries where Aboriginal handicrafts are on display. The Royal Flying Doctor Service gives you insight into how remote medical care operates out here. Alice Springs Desert Park is worth a couple hours to understand the local ecosystems and wildlife. From Anzac Hill Lookout, the views stretch across the entire region, and timing it for sunrise or sunset really shows off the landscape.
