    Lemosho Glades

Registration happens at Lemosho Glades gate to start things off. From there, you'll head into the lush rainforest on a relatively easy trail that covers about 7 kilometres over 3-4 hours. The path itself isn't too demanding, which gives you a chance to get your legs moving and settle into the rhythm of the trek.

  2. Day 2

    Shira Plateau

The trail climbs gradually through heather and moorland zones today. You'll cover approximately 10 kilometres over 6-7 hours as you move toward higher elevation. From various points along the way, the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak come into view, and the landscape changes noticeably as you gain altitude at a moderate pace.

  3. Day 3

    Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

This is a tougher day with more serious climbing. The route takes you to Lava Tower at 4,630 metres where you'll start noticing the effects of altitude. After spending time there, you descend into the Barranco Valley and settle at Barranco Camp beneath the Great Barranco Wall. The full day covers about 10 kilometres over 6-7 hours and feels more demanding than previous sections.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack (Evening tea with popcorn or peanuts)

    • Descent to Barranco Camp

  4. Day 4

    Barranco Wall to Karanga Valley

Early on, you'll tackle the steep Barranco Wall, which involves some scrambling and careful footing. Once you reach the top, the views open up across the surrounding terrain. From there, you descend into Karanga Valley for the rest of the day. The total distance is about 7 kilometres over 4-5 hours, and this section pushes you harder physically.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack (Evening tea with popcorn or peanuts)

    Included Activities

    • Steep climb of Barranco Wall with scrambling sections
    • Panoramic views from top of Barranco Wall

  5. Day 5

    Barafu Camp

The terrain shifts to alpine desert as the path gradually climbs toward Barafu Camp, your staging point for the summit push. You'll cover roughly 6 kilometres over 4-5 hours, and the landscape becomes more stark and open. At this elevation, the air feels thinner, and the climb becomes moderately challenging, preparing you for what comes next.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack (Evening tea with popcorn or peanuts)

    Included Activities

    • Ascent through alpine desert terrain
    • Arrival at Barafu Camp base camp

  6. Day 6

    Uhuru Peak (Summit)

Your midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak starts well before dawn. The climb demands both physical endurance and mental toughness, with steep sections and high altitude working against you throughout. Reaching Uhuru Peak represents the culmination of your trek, and after taking time at the summit, you'll descend to Mweka Camp. The full push covers about 10 kilometres to the peak with 4-6 hours of descent, making this the most intensive day by far.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack (Evening tea with popcorn or peanuts)

    Included Activities

    • Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak
    • Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 metres)

  7. Day 7

    Mweka Gate

The final descent takes you back through the rainforest toward Mweka Gate, where the trek officially ends. At the gate, your mountain crew presents you with summit certificates and you say goodbye to everyone who helped get you up and down the mountain. This moderate descent covers about 10 kilometres over 3-4 hours, and by the time you reach the gate, the full experience of the mountain sinks in.

    End point
