I'm weighing up a couple of South Island Tours. We would require a double/ Queen room or Twin Room. We are both 74 years. Are there any further other additional taxes, costs or expected small fees? I think the following are additional costs - Milford Cruise/lunch, Lunch/wine taste. Star Gaze Tekapo, and visit Lake Te Anua. If so, as we are on a budget can you give an idea of prices of those activities? Also Xmas Day I think is on the road between Franz Joseph and Christchurch. Is there a suggested lunch venue (maybe at Christchurch ?) for Xmas Lunch.

Your tour price of $4,699 NZD per person (including GST) is the full cost of the trip. All transport, accommodation, breakfasts, and included activities noted in the itinerary are covered which includes the cost of Milford, lunch at Mt Difficulty with wine tasting, free star gazing in Tekapo (you are staying in the largest Dark Sky reserve so you'll see stars on a clear night), We over night in Te Anau during the tour so visiting here is included. Optional glow worms caves are offered. For Christmas Day, the tour is travelling from Queenstown to Franz Josef. It's a beautiful drive day! Your guide can help organise something special for Christmas evening and also lunch if guests on tour are up for it.

I would like to book the southern Voyager tour and ask for an exception on my age (45). I am active and enjoy outdoors. I don't mind sleeping in youth hostels and have done so many times before. No other tours are available on my dates. This is the perfect tour for me, for the time I will be in New Zealand. I would like to join the southern voyager 7 day tour.

How quickly do the tours fill up – how far in advance would you recommend we book?

Our Premium Tours are becoming quite popular. As we move closer to the departure date, it will fill up quite quickly due to the New Year and for summer being our peak season in New Zealand. I would recommend booking sooner as it is a guaranteed spot.

We really enjoyed our tour of South Island. It was very well organised and Telli, our guide, was absolutely brilliant! He was knowledgeable, informative, kind and had a great sense of humour – everybody warmed to him and he went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best time. We didn't have the funds to splash out on the extra activities but we still enjoyed every location we visited. There was so much to see and do, and we were lucky to have a really fantastic group of fellow travellers. All the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and Telli recommended places to eat and drink. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wild Kiwi.Show more

  Yes, our Southern Voyager tour is one of our Adventure tours, designed for travellers aged 18–39. Alternatively, we'd recommend our South Island Escape tour departing on the 15th of November 2025, one of our Premium tours with no age restriction, featuring 3 - 4 star accommodation. The tour departs from the Wyndham Garden City Hotel in Christchurch. The tour price is based on twin-share accommodation, meaning you'd share a twin room with another Wild Kiwi Tours guest of the same gender.

  I would like stargaze and glowworm night tour, which I found in the brocher of Southern Voyager. I did not see them in "Premium - South Island Escape". May I have more details about "Premium - South Island Escape"

  The South Island Escape follows the same itinerary as the Southern Escape. The only difference between the two tours is the accommodation: the Southern Voyager stays in flashpacker hostels, while the South Island Escape offers 3 - 4 star accommodation. You'll have the opportunity to go stargazing in Tekapo and visit the glowworm caves in Te Anau en route to Milford Sound.
