It’s so fun meeting people from all over the world!
All of the stops were basically everywhere I wanted to go in the South Island, and the route is well thought through. Having been in the South Island for about two months now after my tour, I can say that this Wild Kiwi tour stops at all the main must-see tourist locations in South Island (besides Abel Tasman). Stops at each place are just the right length.
I would recommend researching some of the hikes/activities you want to do in each area beforehand. It definitely makes sure you make the most of your time everywhere! My guide didn’t really make too many suggestions other than the paid activities, but since I did the research beforehand, I was able to fit a lot into each day.
There are grocery stores in pretty much every town, so you can buy ingredients to make lunch/dinner if you want to save some money. There were about two organized group dinners, and one free dinner at the end that the guide organizes. I’d also recommend bringing a towel in case the hostel doesn’t have any.

Seven days of absolute fun! The South Island was beautiful. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a South Island getaway. And if Telli is your guide, ask him to tell you the horse joke.

Whatever you're paying Telli, give that man a raise! He was a fantastic guide and helped to make our tour fun. I definitely recommend the Southern Voyager Tour!

All in all this was a great tour- well planned and well managed by Telli our guide. We really enjoyed our tour of South Island. It was very well organised and Telli, our guide, was absolutely brilliant! He was knowledgeable, informative, kind and had a great sense of humour – everybody warmed to him and he went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best time. We didn't have the funds to splash out on the extra activities but we still enjoyed every location we visited. There was so much to see and do, and we were lucky to have a really fantastic group of fellow travellers. All the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and Telli recommended places to eat and drink. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wild Kiwi.
Go for it, you'll only regret not going and meeting amazing people.

I had an awesome time on the Southern Voyager 1 week tour.
I wouldn't normally do a tour, but my ferry was cancelled and I couldn't bring my camper over. This tour was a perfect plan B. I could sit ba…I had an awesome time on the Southern Voyager 1 week tour.
I wouldn't normally do a tour, but my ferry was cancelled and I couldn't bring my camper over. This tour was a perfect plan B. I could sit back and relax whilst staring out the window at the stunning scenery and listen to Telli's deep voice giving insights of each location or telling ridiculously long jokes- shout out to the horse joke.
The tour was well organised but is flexible and doesn't tie you down to strict timings or activities so you can do as much or little as you want.
Telli, the tour guide, was such a nice guy. He kept us entertained and looked after everyone really well.

If Telli's your guide, you've got a real Kiwi with a lot of hands-on experience with the more adventurous hobbies in the country. Ask Telli about the Horse Joke.

Good choice of activities offered. The small group made sure this did not feel like a military operation and was a really friendly group with a mix of age ranges!
I will be using Wild Kiwi for future trips!

The tour was great. Loved the places we went to. It was well organised and timed. Very good group atmosphere. I had a blast ! Telli is awesome and you’ll definitely have a good laugh with him
