You'll arrive in Salzburg and have time to walk through the winding alleys and historic squares. Stop at charming cafés for authentic Austrian coffee and get a feel for the city's culture and history. The compact old town is perfect for wandering on foot, and you can pick up the rhythm of Mozart's hometown as you explore.

Salzburg to St. Johann
Start cycling south from Salzburg through shady meadows along the Salzach River, heading toward Hallein. This charming Celtic town has romantic alleyways and nice old facades to check out. From there, you'll cycle past the waterfall at Golling on well-developed paths, then continue to St. Johann where the twin towers of Pongau Cathedral come into view.

Keep cycling along the Salzach River through Schwarzach to reach Bruck an der Glocknerstraße. From here, you have options: take public transport on the scenic High Alpine Road to see Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain at 3,797m, or cycle directly to Kaprun to visit the impressive high mountain reservoirs. Either way, you'll see some great views.

Take the local Pinzgaubahn train to Krimml to see Europe's largest waterfalls. From there, you'll cycle back through Hohe Tauern National Park and the Oberpinzgau valley. The route takes you past snow-capped peaks around three thousand meters high, through lush meadows, and by charming villages along the way.

Kaprun - Lofer
You'll cycle about 55 km from Kaprun to Lofer today. Early on, there's time for a refreshing swim in Lake Zell. Then you'll pass through Maishofen, see the pilgrimage church at Maria Alm, and stop for lunch in Saalfelden. After that, check out Seisenbergklamm gorge and Lamprechtshöhle cave before reaching Lofer by evening.

On your final day, cycle around 50 km through the peaceful Saalach Valley. You'll come through Bad Reichenhall with its Bavarian character before heading back to Salzburg. Once you arrive, spend time in the old town and visit Mozart's birthplace to wrap up your tour.
