7 Day Western Europe Itinerary, incl. Paris and Amsterdam
A grand European loop through 9 cities across 6 countries showcases Paris's Eiffel Tower, UNESCO-listed Burgundy, Jungfrau Region, Rhine Valley castles, and Amsterdam's canals. The 2,100 km route includes 4 dinners and hotels rated 4.1/5 overall.

- Days 1-2
Paris
Cross the English Channel to Paris to begin your journey. "Watching the city light up at night from the Seine was magical, though I recommend getting to major sites like the Louvre early—by 8:30 AM to beat tour groups." Your first evening features a driving tour of iconic landmarks followed by a welcome dinner. On Day 2, explore Paris on your own or join optional activities like visiting a traditional perfumery and taking a Seine River cruise.

- Day 3
Burgundy to Swiss Alps
Leave Paris and stop in beautiful Beaune for lunch and optional wine tasting. Drive through the stunning Alps to reach the Jungfrau region. A recent visitor suggests: "Bring layers for Switzerland—temperatures can vary dramatically between valley and peaks. The Swiss chalet hotels are cozy but rustic, so don't expect luxury amenities."

- Day 4
Swiss Alps
Take a full day to explore the Alps. Most travelers recommend the optional trip to Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest train station. One visitor shares: "The journey to the summit was unforgettable—just remember to move slowly at high altitude and bring sunglasses for the snow glare." A traditional Swiss fondue dinner makes a perfect evening activity.

- Day 5
Rhine Valley
- Day 6
Amsterdam
Head to the Netherlands, with stops at the historic Riekermolen Windmill and a demonstration of Dutch cheese and clog-making. In the evening, take an Amsterdam canal cruise. A traveler advises: "Book dinner reservations in advance if you want to eat in central Amsterdam—restaurants fill up fast, especially on weekends."

- Day 7
Bruges to London
7 Day the Balkans Itinerary, incl. Istanbul and Dubrovnik
A cultural odyssey through southeastern Europe connects eight cities in seven countries. Marvel at Istanbul's Spice Bazaar, Sofia's Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and Kotor's UNESCO bay. The trip includes a flight from Istanbul to Sofia, daily breakfast, and guided tours.

- Days 1-2
Istanbul
Begin in Turkey's vibrant metropolis. Visit the Spice Bazaar early at 8:30 AM before the tourist rush. The morning offers the strongest scents and best shopping experience. Take an afternoon Bosphorus cruise for great photos of the Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi Palaces. A recent visitor shared: "Watching the sunset from the Bosphorus cruise was magical, but bring a light jacket as it gets breezy on the water."

- Day 3
Istanbul to Sofia
- Day 4
Sofia to Skopje
- Day 5
Skopje to Tirana via Prizren
- Day 6
Tirana to Dubrovnik via Kotor
- Day 7
Dubrovnik
7 Day Western Europe Itinerary, incl. Amsterdam and Paris
Classic European sites dot 6 cities across 4 countries, including Cologne Cathedral, Rhine River cruise, Black Forest region, Rhine Falls, Lucerne's Chapel Bridge, and Paris's iconic landmarks.

- Day 1
Amsterdam
Begin in Amsterdam's historic center. "The best way to get oriented is with an evening canal cruise - it helps you understand how the city fits together," shares a fellow traveler. Book your canal tour around 7-8pm in summer for the best photos of the gabled houses. Look for dinner in the Jordaan district but book ahead since restaurants fill up fast.

- Day 2
Amsterdam to Rhine Valley
Drive 3 hours to Cologne. Visit the Gothic Cathedral near the train station but go before 11am to beat the crowds. Take the afternoon Rhine cruise from Boppard for about 2 hours. Choose the left side of the boat to see the castles. A recent visitor notes: "The Rhine Valley cruise was a highlight - bring a light jacket as it gets breezy on deck, even in summer."

- Day 3
Black Forest and Rhine Falls
Leave early to catch the morning fog in the Black Forest. Visit Rhine Falls and check out the Känzeli viewing platform. Just watch for spray on windy days. It's about 3 hours to Lucerne. One traveler suggests: "Don't miss the traditional Swiss folklore show in Lucerne - the alpine horn performance was incredible."

- Day 4
Lucerne
Visit the Lion Monument before 9am to avoid tour groups. Get to Chapel Bridge early for photos before crowds arrive. Take the morning cogwheel train up Mount Pilatus since afternoon storms are common in summer. A visitor recommends: "The lake cruise offers amazing views of the Alps, but book the first departure at 10am for the calmest water."

- Day 5
Lucerne to Paris
- Day 6
Paris
Start at the Eiffel Tower with 9am tickets to avoid long lines. A visitor suggests: "For the best Eiffel Tower photos, head to Trocadéro Plaza at sunrise before the crowds arrive." Spend your afternoon in Montmartre. Take the funicular up to save energy. Cabaret shows run at 9pm and 11pm. The later show usually has fewer people.

- Glimpse of Europe (End Paris)
The staff, Jon and Mickey, were great, the bus was always clean, and the people I met (from Australia, NZ, USA, South Africa, Canada) were lovely. Some meals were hit and miss, and the time spent on the bus was a bit long. Mount Pilatus and our stay in Brunnen were highlights, as were our folksy Swiss lunch and Parisian caberet. On the other hand, it was quite distressing to see how hard the horses worked on what we thought were carriage rides (we had 10 guests in each carriage, which made them horse-drawn buses). The hotels were often great if not in the centre of the city, or elderly if they were. Beds clean and comfy though.
