  • S

    Sylvia

    Asked on January 11th, 2026

Interested in the trip on 5/17 from London to Scotland and Wales. I am interested in touring the Cardiff stadium where the football team plays. Is there enough free time to do while in Cardiff?

    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

On Day 6 of the Great Britain tour, the group will travel from Liverpool to Stratford-Upon-Avon and then on to Cardiff, where the evening will be spent at the hotel.

Please note that the itinerary does not include a scheduled visit to Cardiff Stadium, and any additional sightseeing would need to be arranged independently.

This information is based on the 2025 itinerary, and schedules for 2026 may vary.

  • L

    Laurie

    Asked on January 7th, 2026

Is there an age restriction for tours? Can exceptions be made for travelers over 75 years old?

    Age Range
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

Expat Explore Travel has a general age guideline of 75 years for most of our tours. This is in place primarily for the safety and comfort of all travellers, as our trips involve moderate physical activity, walking tours, and sometimes long travel days.

While we cannot formally guarantee exceptions for travellers over 75, we do consider individual cases based on mobility, health, and fitness levels. The traveller's mobility, stamina, and any medical considerations should be clearly assessed.

If deemed suitable, our team can suggest alternative tours that are less physically demanding or have a slower pace, which may be more comfortable for an older traveller.

  • G

    Graham

    Asked on December 7th, 2025

How do the rooms work? Are there 2 beds in the room or will we need to book him a single room?

    Accommodation
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten December 2025

Most hotels on our tours offer twin or double rooms. When there is an odd number of travellers, the extra traveller will need to be booked in a single room if they require their own bed. We always try to room travellers of the same gender together where possible. If you would like, you can request a private room for your son or any traveller for an additional fee. The exact room setup will be confirmed by the hotel at check-in.

  • T

    Tom

    Asked on November 11th, 2025

Are all departures on the tour at 6:30am or just first departure out of London?

    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten November 2025

The 6:30 a.m. departure applies only to the first day of the tour, when the group departs from London. On the following days, departure times will vary depending on the itinerary and will be advised by your Tour Leader.

  • A

    Anita

    Asked on October 26th, 2025

How long do we have in Liverpool? Is the hotel at Royal Albert Dock? Would we have time to do this 3 hour tour? Would we have time for Mersey Ferries River Explorer Cruise? Will we have time to see the exhibit at the dock? Will we have time to go in Cavern Club?

    Tour Details
    Travel Support
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

Based on the current itinerary, the group will arrive in Liverpool on Day 5 after visiting Gretna Green and the Lake District. You'll enjoy a driving tour of the city that afternoon, followed by an overnight stay at a centrally located hotel such as the ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock. With this schedule, it's unlikely there will be enough free time for a full 3-hour Beatles tour or the Mersey Ferries River Explorer Cruise, as most of the sightseeing is already included in the itinerary. However, you may still have some free time in the evening after check-in to enjoy a relaxed visit to the Cavern Club or explore the Albert Dock area.

  • S

    Sophie

    Asked on October 21st, 2025

Will I have time to do the Beatles house tour 10-Noon departing from station 2 Liverpool Friday morning.

    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

Part of the tour already includes the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool, which covers many of the city's famous Beatles landmarks. We have our own scheduled program during this time, we can't guarantee availability to join additional external tours. You will have free times as well and we do allow passengers to roam around during free times.

    • S

      Sophie

      TravelerWritten October 2025

When will I receive the complete itinerary. If the magical mystery tour is at the same time as the tour I want can I opt out? Also would it be possible without too much trouble for me and my friend to spend more time in Liverpool and meet up with the group later in the day.

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

You will receive the final detailed itinerary in your Tour Leader Announcement (TLA), which is sent approximately 10–15 days before your tour departure. If the Magical Mystery Tour happens to coincide with a scheduled group activity, you are welcome to opt out and join later at your own convenience. However, please note that we are unable to refund any missed inclusions or services from the main tour program. If you wish to spend additional time in Liverpool and meet up with the group later in the day, you may do so, but you need to coordinate this directly with your Tour Leader on tour to ensure a smooth rejoin.

    Joanna

    Asked on August 25th, 2025

Do you happen to know if site visit entrance fees are included in the price package already? What about tips for your guide - do we need to tip extra?

    Price / Availability
    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

As for tipping – it is not compulsory, but always appreciated if your parents feel their tour leader or driver has gone above and beyond. Many travelers choose to give a small tip at the end of the trip as a gesture of thanks.

    • J

      Joanna

      TravelerWritten August 2025

Do you happen to have some examples of the entrance fees that are not included already? What about insurance - are we able to get our own insurance from another country? Or how do people deal with insurance on the tour?

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

Regarding travel insurance, you may add it when checking out if offered, or alternatively, purchase coverage from another provider in your country. We recommend insurance that covers trip cancellation and interruption, medical assistance and repatriation, and lost or damaged baggage.

    • J

      Joanna

On the last day, does the bus make any scheduled stop between Stonehenge and London/Greenwich, or does it go non-stop to Greenwich train station?

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

On the final day, after visiting Stonehenge, the coach will travel directly back to London/Greenwich without any further scheduled stops. The tour will end with a drop-off at the designated ending point specified for your departure.
