Lima
Start at Casona San Marcos for a local snack while learning about the building's history. You'll join a workshop to pick up cajón percussion and some basic música negra dance steps. After that, head to the Main Square then spend the rest of your day in Miraflores, Kennedy Park, or checking out local restaurants on your own. There's also an optional guided walking tour available if you'd like to see Larcomar shopping centre.

Lima to Cusco
This morning you're flying to Cusco, your gateway to the Sacred Valley. You'll have a local Peruvian lunch with sweeping views of the valley, then meet with a Shaman who'll perform a special ceremony welcoming you to Peru.

Sacred Valley
Meet local farmers who grow Peru's Giant White Corn and see how they combine ancestral knowledge with modern techniques. You'll watch a Marinera dance performance showing Peru's Spanish, Indigenous and African heritage. Later in the afternoon you get to join a hands-on cooking class where you'll prepare authentic ceviche and craft the perfect Pisco sour.

Landmarks Sacred Valley - Day 5
Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
You'll visit Ollantaytambo's massive stone terraces and fortress ruins. Then board the Vistadome train along the Inca Trail heading to Machu Picchu, taking in panoramic views with a light snack included. Once there, explore with a Local Specialist who'll point out temples, palaces, terraces, the Temple of the Sun, House of the Priest, Sacred Plaza, and the intricately carved Intihuatana.

- Day 6
Machu Picchu to Sacred Valley
You've got another chance to spend time at Machu Picchu exploring the hilltop fortress at your own pace. Later you'll take the train back to the Sacred Valley, stopping along the way to learn about natural dyeing techniques from native weavers. The day ends at the Pisac handicraft market where you can sample chicha, the traditional Andean drink.

Cusco
Begin in Cusco at Sacsayhuamán, the UNESCO-listed Incan fortress, then continue on a guided city tour. You'll visit Korikancha, once the Incan Empire's most important temple, and stop at Mantay, a social project for young mothers. Your afternoon is free to explore, or you can join optional activities like the Choco Museum, Maras Salt Mines, Moray terraces, a walking tour after dark, or a Peruvian cooking class.

Cusco to Puno
You're heading toward Puno, crossing the La Raya Pass where the Andes divide the Cusco and Puno regions. Stop at Raqchi, an archaeological site that was once key along the Inca road network. Then you'll visit a local family home for lunch and stories, and try painting your own torito de Pucará, a colorful ceramic bull that symbolizes strength, protection and good fortune in this part of Peru.

Lake Titicaca

This morning you're heading back to Lima, then continuing on to Paracas, the coastal playground. You'll see what life looks like in Peru's rural countryside along the way. Once you arrive in Paracas you'll have the evening to yourself, with the option to take a stroll along the Malecon if you'd like.

Nazca Lines and Ica
Fly above the desert to view the Nazca Lines, ancient geoglyphs best seen from the air, and spot the hummingbird, spider, monkey and condor among the centuries-old designs. Back on the ground, explore the Regional Museum of Ica with artifacts from the Paracas, Nazca and Inca cultures. Then visit a winery to learn how Peru's Pisco is made, sample different styles, and have a relaxed lunch of regional dishes. The rest of the afternoon is yours to do as you please.

Ballestas Islands and Lima
Work with a Local Specialist to cruise around the uninhabited Ballestas Islands, spotting guanay cormorants, Peruvian boobies, pelicans, sea lions, fur seals and Humboldt penguins. You'll see the mysterious Candelabro in Pisco Bay. From there, head back to Lima to visit the Larco Museum with a Local Specialist, then wrap up with a festive farewell dinner in the museum's garden restaurant.

Puerto Maldonado Rainforest
Climb the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, using suspension bridges high above the forest floor to see the rainforest from its rooftop. Take a short boat ride into Tambopata National Reserve and hike through thick jungle. You'll reach Sandoval Lake where you might spot birds, monkeys, giant river otters, black caimans and anacondas. Watch the sunset over the lake before heading back to the lodge for dinner.
