Dear Andrea, Thank you for leaving a review for your tour to Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands. All other passengers returned to the coach at the appointed time and we did try to contact you on the number provided to see if you could return to the coach. As you were left at the Clansman Hotel, and had to make your own way back, we have provided a partial refund. We hope that you did enjoy the tour up to that point, and the rest of your time in Scotland. Kind regards, Clara

I'm needing to book my flights and wanted to confirm commencing from GLA Glasgow, and ending in EDI Edinburgh

    Flights / Transfers
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

Passengers on this tour can depart from either Edinburgh or Glasgow. The tour initially picks passengers up in Edinburgh, before travelling to Glasgow to pick passengers up there. It is the same tour but allows the passengers the flexibility to join from either city. You would be able to join the tour from Glasgow, however we just wanted to make you aware that Edinburgh is also an option for when you are looking at flights. The tour ends in Edinburgh, returning to the city at approximately 7:30pm. We provide complimentary train tickets to passengers who departed from Glasgow, should they wish to return to this city. However you can also depart the tour at Edinburgh, should you wish to do so.

I read that the Glasgow to Skye/Portree is more scenic than Edinburgh to Skye/Portree, but from this information - it's exactly the same tour? Just different starting points? What time does Edinburgh start? What time does Glasgow start?

    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

We can confirm that they are the same tour, just with different starting points. The tour departs from Edinburgh at 9:00am. The coach then travels to Glasgow to collect Glasgow passengers. The tour then departs from Glasgow at approximately 10:15am.

What is the cost for the accommodation for 1 person for this tour? Please provide B&B pricing as well as Hostel pricing and do we pay when we check in or do we do it ahead of time?

    Accommodation

    Price / Availability
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten June 2025

Accommodation is not included in the tour price as we prefer to let you choose exactly what kind of accommodation you want, depending on your budget. As we work with a number of accommodation providers in Portree, we would not be able to give you an exact price prior to booking but price ranges for each type of accommodation are as follows: Youth Hostel: Bed in a dormitory room from £30 to £40 per person per night (female, male or mixed dorms). Bed & Breakfast: From £65 to £85 per person per night for a shared room (double, twin, or family rooms). From £75 to £125 per night for single occupancy (single room). Hotel: From £75+ per person per night per person per night based on two people sharing (single, double, twin or family rooms). We can book this for you and then you would pay on arrival at your accommodation.

    Accommodation
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten May 2025

Accommodation is not included in the tour price as we prefer to let you choose exactly what kind of accommodation you want, depending on your budget. Could you please let us know your preference among those following options: Youth Hostel: Bed in a dormitory room from £30 to £40 per person per night (female, male or mixed dorms). Bed & Breakfast: From £65 to £85 per person per night for a shared room (double, twin, or family rooms). From £75 to £125 per night for single occupancy (single room). Hotel: From £75+ per person per night per person per night based on two people sharing (single, double, twin or family rooms). Please note that all accommodation costs depend on availability and season. Also, please be advised that most B&B accommodation providers only accept cash payments and do not accept debit/credit cards as method of payment.

      TravelerWritten May 2025

I would like either a Bed & Breakfast or hotel with a private room and bathroom.

    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten May 2025

When booking, you should have the option to select Single B&B. This will let us know that you are looking for us to book you a single bedroom in a B&B. We cannot guarantee an ensuite bathroom however, as not every B&B in Portree has them available, and as you're looking at booking with less than a months notice, there may not be any left for your chosen date.

Any group tour departing on April 29?

    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten March 2025

Yes, we do have a 3-day Skye, The Highlands and Loch Ness tour scheduled to depart on Tuesday 29th April. Regarding the luggage, if you bring one medium sized suitcase (63 to 67 centimetres / 25 to 26 inches), one carry-on suitcase and one small personal item such as a backpack that you can bring with you inside the coach, we can accept that, but please note that this is the maximum limit we can allow per passenger, so if you have more luggage than this, you will need to store the rest of your bags on a safe left luggage facility.

    Asked on February 2nd, 2025

What are the luggage allowances on the tour?

    Transport
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten February 2025

On our extended tours you are allowed to bring a medium-sized suitcase, which, in general, is considered to be between 63 and 67 centimetres in height (25 to 26 inches). This is necessary to ensure that luggage for all the passengers travelling on the tour can be stored safely into the hold. In addition to the medium sized suitcase, you are able to take a small piece of hand luggage onto the coach itself as a carry-on allowance.

We are planning to go to Scotland next year during the winter. We are interested in the package of 3-day tour in the isle of skye. I see that the accommodation is not included. In that case, do you have recommendations? as the members of the group will not be in the same place, are we having a meeting point?

    Tour Details
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten November 2024

We use a wide range of different accommodation providers. These are all tried and tested by ourselves to ensure that they meet our high standards. We are unable to provide you with a full list, but we would suggest looking at booking.com and searching for accommodation in central Portree. Our departure point is from outside the green Ensign Ewart pub, at 521-523 Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2PE. If you're starting the tour in Glasgow, our departure point will be from 19 Killermont Street, Glasgow, G2 3NX.

im looking to book my train back to london after this trip ends, but can you tell me how good is the time keeping on the trip when it says the tour ends at 7:30pm, will i be able to make my 8pm train home?? or do you know if sometimes these tours do run late on the third and final day

    Transport
    • Timberbush ToursOperatorWritten November 2024

The tour returns to Edinburgh around 7:30pm on the last day of the tour. While we always aim to return on time this may change depending on unforeseen circumstances such as heavy road traffic, diversions or accidents so we recommend leaving as much time as possible for further travels.
