Arrival in Pico
You'll land in Pico and get picked up at the airport for the drive to Madalena (or Horta on Faial if that works better for you). After getting oriented around town, you'll settle into your accommodation for the night.

Pico Island Adventures
This is your chance to explore Pico flexibly over two weeks with a guide who adjusts plans based on wind and weather. You'll head out on six boat trips hunting for whales and dolphins, tour the whaling and agriculture museum, check out the whale-watching lookout posts, watch yellow-billed shearwaters return to cliff nests at dusk, search for the rare Azores Evening Swift bat, take a day trip to nearby Faial to see New Land's volcanic terrain and Peter Café Sport marina, hike through Pico's highlands for volcanic landscapes and views, and walk through the UNESCO wine-growing areas to learn how locals cultivate grapes using traditional methods.
