It's a group lesson on some basic mandarin phrases to help you along your travels. The lesson is normally around 30-60 minutes.

The recommended age group for this tour is 18-55.

Why can't I go if I'm a fit active 62 year old ??

While this tour is usually designed for ages 18-55 we have some flexibility. The target age group exsists as that is who we designed it for. Staying in hostel rooms, using public transport and lots of walking in most destinations. If you are keen to book we would just require you to fill out a Tour Suitability Form to make sure we're all aligned with expectations on the tour.

Is it possible, you will add a November 2026 tour?

Unfortunately we don't run this trip from November to February due to conditions getting too cold. The latest departure we have is 18th October if this works for you?

Is this tour flexible with age? We are looking for family of 4, 2 adults and two kids ages 11 and 13.

Unfortunately we can't accept anybody under the age of 18 on this tour. However we do have our China family tour that has one date running for August 2027.

If you are applying for a visa from the US for China, you can follow the steps from the US-China Embassy Gov website. Whilst we are not visa experts, we recommend you do your own research for what is required in your case, however we can provide an invitation letter and supporting documents if they are required for your application. 27 Day China Loop is a great way to see a fair few places in China. All of the Dragon Trip China trips are when combined what make up this one. So you'll have new people join doing the shorter trips and have some of the group leave as well along the way. There aren't many tours of China of this length, I imagine it tries to stick under 30 days due to that at the time of this review being how long Australians, UK, Germany and most demographics who do English speaking solo travelers wanting a group to share experiences and socialise with tours are from. We had two from the US, one knew they needed a visa, the other didn't so we never saw him again after Hong Kong. So check if your country currently needs one. I had done South Korea with Dragon T a few months before booking this one. To be honest that one was a bit better organised and run. It included most activities, had the one guide. This hardly includeds any (so you are paying extra for each one) and has a new guide in every city. You and your fellow dragons (group) have to get on each train and travel alone between. Most of our group did the whole 27 days, and there were quite a few of us who had done a lot of this type of thing so could look after the others, but there is a possibility you might not have anyone like that. It is also a little annoying, you do a tour so you can relax and not have to do that. But that is way this one is. We had peolle from a range of ages, including a few 18 year olds and two eldelry ladies. Granted the latter didn't do any optional or even most included activities but there are people of all ages doing this. As well as all levels of fitness. Eveyone got along and the social factor was high. Hong Kong easily the worst accomodation, don't even give you towels, nor did Yangshuo. Yangshuo was quite a good introduction to mainland China. Would have liked to have spent more time at the twenty dollar note town, just to walk around it, maybe get some souveneirs. Shout out to Ping, set the benchmark early for good guides Other highlights included Yangtze River Cruise in Chongquin, very nice lit up buildings! Our guide wasn't the best in that city though. So after being left behind constantly as guide disappeared ahead, most didn't do next days train through building and poor quality food expensive lunch. Chengdu Giant Panda and Research centre was awesome to see both red pandas and the larger bamboo eater black & white ones. Teracotta warriors were a bit underwhelming, and I wish we'd spent more time in the part outside area you paid to go in. Should have had free time to grab lunch (ranged from US fast food to local stuff) and there was plenty of weird tacky stuff to see. Instead we dined at a restaurant with a rotating glass table which really didn't work with a grouo our size, especially since we weren't sharing food. Xiam's Ming Dynasty city walls were fun to bike around, but would have liked to stop more to take photos. Highlight of trip though. Local guide excellent there too. Shaolin Temple okay but nothing special. Shirts buy from kids kung fu night before are same price as temple itself, not way cheaper as they claim. For some reason lunch was at a really expensive place, much cheaper places to eat same food or other choices just down the stairs. Camping on the Great Wall of China was awesome although it should be called Great Stairs of China. More so getting to camp site rather than camping itself, but that was fine too. Dam hot though, as was most if China in Sept. Beijing not the most exciting and guide really didn't get everyone dehydrated taking us to coffee and tourist iceblock place that onky sells those two things, not water. She also just went off and bought tickets (optional add on) even thiugh most of us didn't plan on going. Shanghai skyline not as good as former cruise. We had too many days in that city too. Optional Zhujiaiao Watertown was needed to relieve boredom but was actually really good. Make sure you go to hundreds year old post office. Venice style boat ride not really worth it. Goes for about five minutes. Another great guide in Shanghai. Jinmao Skytower is underwhelming. Dwarfed by bigger buildings beside it. The sleeper train, well you likely won't sleep. Dragon T needs to book bottom bunks, as a Chinese family did in our carriage for every room of six bunks. They could sit and socialize on bottom bunks, whereas you can't even sit up in middle one. Top bunk has a lot of storage for bags. Real and squat toilets in 6 bed carriage. Fujian Hakka Roundhouses are interesting and different pace days to tour before. Longest train journey there though. Dragon admin really needs to rotate seats on trains as ours was just a cut and paste job so always next to same person. Tour shouldn't finish when get on Hong Kong bound train. Should include night in HK then go to Maccau next day. Even if Maccau was optional ad on day tour. HK Symphony of Lights Show is pretty average. Tour woukd also benefit from meeting earlier on day 1. A bunch of us met up earlier, (use Ding Ding to do this) and it was well worth it, but Michael (HK guide, I think woild have made it even better). By the way cash accepted everywhere, Alipay doesn't work 100% of time but easiest way of paying when does, but you will need a China physical or esim so it can function.Wifi not at most vendour locations. Can use Visa, Mastercard in subway trains tap on and off.Show more

  While this tour is usually designed for ages 18-55 we have some flexibility. The target age group exsists as that is who we designed it for. Staying in hostel rooms, using public transport and lots of walking in most destinations.
  
  If you are keen to book we would just require you to fill out a Tour Suitability Form to make sure we're all aligned with expectations on the tour.

I just did the South Korea tour with The Dragon Trip in May. Do repeat customers booking through Tourradar also get the 10% discount as would occur if booking on The Dragon Trip's own website?

Whilst we are not visa experts, we recommend you do your own research for what is required in your case, however we can provide an invitation letter and supporting documents if they are required for your application.
