Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Amsterdam

    Your first day in Amsterdam is yours to structure however you'd like. Walk around the canals, duck into cafes, or find whatever draws your interest in this Dutch city. There's no scheduled activities, so you can go at your own pace and get a feel for the place before boarding.

  2. Day 2

    Amsterdam

    Time to board your suite ship. After settling in, you can join a guided walk through the cobblestone streets to find hidden corners of Amsterdam, or head out to Zaanse Schans to see the historic windmills and traditional Dutch houses. You'll sleep on the ship in Amsterdam tonight.

    Amsterdam

    Start by checking in with your Adventure Host at the Adventure Center. Then get on a guided canal cruise to see the Golden Age homes lining the waterways. The afternoon is flexible: you can pick an optional excursion or spend time on your own visiting museums and galleries. The ship heads to Cologne overnight.

    Cologne

    Cologne offers several choices: bike with locals, take a walking tour of Jewish heritage sites, or do a classic city walk to see the Gothic cathedral with its twin spires. Later you'll have downtime to grab a locally-brewed Kölsch beer and catch local musicians performing on board. You'll cruise to Cochem overnight.

    This morning you can optionally visit Eltz Castle. For the main part of the day, pick between biking along the Mosel river, touring the former Deutsche Bundesbank bunker from the Cold War, or walking through Cochem to see the half-timbered houses and hilltop Reichsburg Castle with views over the valley. The ship heads to Remich overnight.

    You're in Trier, one of Germany's oldest cities with Roman history all around. Choose to wander on your own with your Adventure Host, take a guided tour starting from Porta Nigra, or focus on Roman sites like the amphitheater and imperial baths. Optional excursions happen in the afternoon, and live entertainment plays on board before cruising to Bernkastel overnight.

    Starting in Koblenz, you can bike the Mosel side, take a guided walk through the old city with ancient fortress walls, or tour Sayn Manor House. After that, the ship cruises through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Later you'll reach Rüdesheim where you have free time this evening to explore the wine village. Then it's on to Ludwigshafen overnight.

Later the ship stops in Speyer for free time, and then continues to Strasbourg where you'll overnight.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

    ship was excellent, food and drinks were great, adventures perfectly organized,all crew members were extremely friendly and helpful. One person was outstanding and needs to be mentioned: our cruise director GAYLE. She was just outstanding and the best we ever experienced.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
