I think you could plan a better itinerary using ChatGPT instead of paying for this tour. I think majority of the 8 and half day trip was wasted in Osaka, Hiroshima, and Kyoto; leaving barely anytime in Tokyo. Also, the only hotel I would consider even being close to a 4 star hotel was the Ala Hotel Kyoto. The Odysis, Oriental Hiroshima, Mutoso Phoenix, Hotel It, and Hotel Metropolitan were not very clean. Moreover, Hotel It charged customers for amenity items such as if you needed cotton swaps, toothbrush etc. And Hotel Metropolitan, refused the use of a luggage trolley unless you paid a fee because my reservation was made by Tomato!! I would also like to add that the tour remove the mention of “arrival pickup” from KIX airport because it is misleading. It is basically someone meeting you to show you, after a long flight and horrible experience at KIX in long confusing lines, which train to drag all your luggage onto to get to your hotel. Unless the Tomato makes adjustments to this tour, I would not recommend it!

Overall the 10 day tour was more like 8 1/2 days with 1 1/2 free time in Tokyo so felt short changed. Sadly our interpreters English was poor and our small group of 4 had difficulty understanding her some times, however she was a lovely Lady as well as our Mini-bus Driver. Overall the Hotel choice was pretty good. Would i use your services again? probably not as we are more than capable of organizing our own Tours.

The tour itinerary is great for first time Japan visitor, our bus driver and tour guide were wonderful. I would not recommend Tomato Travel again though, the communication about the tour was nonexistent beyond sending a generic itinerary info 2 weeks before departure. They did not provide any detail about add-on experience we booked 8 mths before tour start, did not communicate the change of tour guide (the contact info provided in the itinerary doc was not valid by the time we started the tour)... The final issue for me was the fact that the only time the add-on experience was mentioned to us was 2 days before it was supposed to occur. At that time I reached out to Tomato Travel immediately asking to refund the experience. Due to pacing of the tour up to that point, and seeing how the bus was managing in Tokyo (not well due to traffic congestion) we did not want to spend 60% of our one free day in Tokyo on a bus. The guide was offering other group members to come on the add-on tour without additional cost at that time, but when it came to dropping the experience and refunding us Tomato Travel was completely unresponsive, curt in their messaging and cited logistics for a reason to not refund even partial cost. Logistics were not an issue when offering to add people though. They stated it's considered a late cancellation, when it was literally the first communication they ever provided regarding the experience. If you can find a similar itinerary with a different provider I highly recommend it.

My sister and I joined the Japan Golden Route with Hiroshima 2025 tour in May and we enjoyed the tour very much. There were 17 people in the group and we had no problem at all. The tour guide Osman Son was very knowledgeable and very concerned of the welfare of the tour members. We learned a lot about Japan and introductory Japanese phrases from him. He became unwell before we moved on to the Mt. Fuji and Samantha Son took over the rest of the trip. She was also a very good tour guide. We were taken care of by Mochi Son who drove the bus with care and safety in mind. He wished us a good trip and a welcome back whenever we stopped at the a sight seeing place. Kudos to all. The itinerary of the trip touched the main important cities and sights. The food was abundant and we enjoyed all the meals that were provided to us. My sister and I will go back to Japan and visit other parts of Japan if the Tomato Travel offers the trips because we enjoyed this particular trip very much. We also enjoyed the optional excursion of Tokyo that amazed us.

Thank you, Tomato Travel, for the fabulous tour! My family of five (myself, my husband, and our children aged between 8 and 13) joined the tour in Osaka and had the best time! The itinerary was excellent—we covered the main spots in Japan without the tour ever feeling rushed, slow, repetitive, or boring. It was just right! Osman was our tour guide up until Kyoto. He was very friendly and approachable, but unfortunately became unwell during the tour. After we disembarked the bullet train at Mt. Fuji, we were met by another tour guide, Samantha, who was an absolute delight! She was extremely helpful, gentle, organised, and informative. Overall, the tour was fantastic. Our group consisted of only 17 people (mainly Australians, Canadians, and Americans), so there were never any issues gathering after each outing. The food was scrumptious—we had breakfast every morning and some lunches and dinners, all of which were impeccable. We loved the trip so much that we want to come back to explore more of Japan. I left Tokyo wanting to see more, especially since we spent our free day taking the kids to Disneyland instead of sightseeing. I would definitely consider travelling with Tomato Travel again—they were absolutely great!

Total tour was organized really well. All the hotels were really nice and everyday breakfast was included. Some lunches and dinner were also included. We traveled by comfortable coach with an experienced driver. Our tour guide, Osman, was very friendly and explained the history very well. It was a fantastic tour and explored major attractions. We highly recommend this tour for anyone.

Hotels and hotel meals were very good. Time to eat lunch was always very short and rushed. We missed so much information from Osmond by earphones not being provided until the last day. He was very helpful but needed to let people know the importance of staying together or letting him know if they left the group. He didn’t provide his cell number until day 3. Printed material of simple Japanese words would have been helpful. Other tours provided some sort of gift from travel company. Communication with company was punctual. Bus was comfortable and driver was good and safe. We had 24 in our group and it would have difficult had there been more.

We highly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance, ensuring you won't need to worry about emergencies that can happen anytime, anywhere, before or during your travels. Insurance can cover the cost of your adventure(s) in the case of an unforeseen cancellation. It ensures that you do not have to worry about any unplanned changes to your travel plans, such as having to rush home to an ill family member or having an adventure changed or cancelled because of a natural disaster. It can even help with smaller things - like lost luggage or stolen cameras.
