  I enjoyed the locations and flexibility to do different hikes or activities at each place. However, as our group was mixed with campers and lodgers (and I was a camper) I found this to be time consuming and somewhat confusing. The lodgers were always 1st to be dropped off at the hotels after each day's travel and activity which often left the campers setting up tents and getting meals in the dark. The food was often pre made bought food and not freshly made or cooked. We also used mainly disposable plates and cutlery which although convenient w I found to be wasteful. The itinerary is good but it would've been better to have more time (at least 2 nights) at each location as we were constantly just packing and unpacking the van. As I booked the 11 days Best of the West Tour this infact was made up of 2 tours . 1st tour being 7 days mainly in Utah where we were with 1 group and the majority left at the end. Then 2nd tour being 4 days with a new group and new guide from Vegas to San Francisco. This was confusing and changed the whole dynamics of the campers and lodgers. The guides were very different with 1 being a lot more attentive and organized than the other. I have been on many organized hiking and camping tours but found this to be the least oganized. Also it was hard to have any bond with the group as the lodgers were always split up from the campers each evening.Show more

  Thank you for taking the time to review your tour - we are glad you enjoyed the national parks. They are certainly amazing places and our expert tour guides love to showcase them. Upon investigation into your comments about disposable plates. The only time disposable plates are ever used are for a couple of the picnic lunches. This is due to the fact that the national parks do not have designated dish washing stations so we do use paper plates on occasion for picnic lunches. Everything we buy is recyclable and compostable wherever possible. In camp breakfasts and dinners are served on reusable plates and with reusable cutlery and camp groups are assigned to help with dishwashing each evening at the designated dishwashing stations provided by the campgrounds. We make it very clear that some guests depart and join on day eight- this goes for the tour guide as well due to legal working hours in the United States requiring a driver guide change. All food provided on this tour is pre-shopped for throughout the tour at local grocery stores. There are only two places on this tour where arrival to the campsite could possibly be after dark and that is in Moab due to the fact that guests opt to take the sunset hummer tour, which ends after sunset and in this instance, your tour guide already at camp and had already prepared the evening's meal it was a chicken and vodka sauce pasta dish with a fresh salad and garlic bread. This was ready and waiting for you when guests arrived back from the sunset Hummer tour. The same goes for the Grand Canyon. This is an evening when a sunset is taken along the rim.   We are a group of 8 friends, 50 plus. We travel together each year and were looking for a tour that encompassed all of the Southwest Tours with an active focus. We like to walk and not be stuck stuck on a bus for hours and hours- this tour was PERFECT! We are so glad with found Bindlestiff. We booked the private tour as it was no additional cost with 8 people. The itinerary was exactly what we were looking for- exploring the parks with ample time, great hotels in prime locations and an expert local tour guide throughout. We enjoyed all of the parks equally as well as Monument Valley and spending the night along the rim of the valley at Gouldings Historic Lodge - the rooms have their own private balconies for optimal sunset and sunrise viewing! Magical in every way. We are already planning our 2027 vacation with Bindlestiff to Alaska.Show more

The hotels were great, the tour guide was an expert in every way and gave unlimited info, stories, history etc about everywhere we visited. The parks are stunning. Customer Service was fantastic pre tour. The tour was full at 12 guests mixed from international guests and domestic- we had a BLAST! thank you for an amazing experience.   A fantastic experience! Taking the grandkids out west before they move, we worked with Becky and booked a private tour for 6 and had a marvelous time. Bindlestiff and our guide Charlie, were tremendous. We had two birthdays on the tour, on pickup we had a birthday decorated van, cupcakes at Zion and doughnuts with sprinkles coming off the Colorado River! Seamless, comfortable, engaging, informative, professional, caring, I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Our guide catered to our needs and wants and ensured we got to do everything we wished for! Go with Bindlestiff, enjoy the experience of folks who know exactly what to see and how to get you there!   The natural parks were beautiful and the route was well chosen. The guides were helpful and friendly. The camping was well organized. The tour is made up of two individual tours (with different guides). This was a bit confusing at the beginning because the first guide didn't know that we would be traveling for 7 days and only ever talked about 3 days. As usual with such tours, sometimes the time is a bit short. If you want more time in the parks, you should book the two tours separately and replace the first part with the 7 day version. Some viewpoints in Death Valley were left out (without explanation/mention), which was a bit of a shame. Finally, expectations regarding tips are also quite high. Accordingly, the tour is relatively expensive but still recommended.Show more

  Eva, we are very sorry you feel this way. We explained to you numerous times what was included and what was not included over the course of 6 months leading up to this tour. This tour requires a food kitty to cover lunches- those were provided to you. Hotels are mid range hotels conveniently located adjacent to the parks in order to allow guests to enjoy full days exploring rather than driving long distances from hotels to parks. Hotels are not advertised with room service. Instead, they either have on site restaurants/cafes or several restaurants choices within a 20 yard radius. In addition to that, hotel guests are invite to join several group meals al fresco- in this instance you were invited to a pizza on the rim of the Grand Canyon, a traditional Navajo taco meal in Monument Valley and a BBQ in Bryce. We also note that you were travelling with two companions who booked the camping version yet you sneaked them into your hotel room each night without hotel authorization. We sincerely hope that you do thorough planning and research for any future travel that you take to ensure that your selection is right for you. All the information provided on this tour is 100% accurate. We hope that you found beauty in the national parks.
