Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Etosha National Park
You'll get picked up from your Windhoek accommodation early and head to the Chameleon Safaris head office for a pre-departure meeting. From there, drive north through Otjiwarongo toward Etosha National Park, grabbing lunch along the way. After arriving, you'll do a game drive through the park looking for wildlife around the waterholes, then settle in at Halali Camp before sunset. In the evening, head out to the floodlit Moringa waterhole for night game viewing.

- Day 2
Etosha National Park
Start with an early breakfast and spend the full day exploring Etosha with a local guide in an open game viewer. You'll stop at multiple waterholes to look for wildlife, and the early morning hours tend to be best for spotting big cats. During your drive, you'll see the enormous Etosha Pan, over 4,700 square kilometers of white mineral pan that's visible from space. As sunset approaches, you'll exit through Anderson gate and drive to your accommodation.

- Day 3
Etosha to Swakopmund
Head west through Damaraland, passing the small town of Outjo and stopping at informal shops where local Himba, Herero, and Damara women sell handcrafted souvenirs. You'll continue across beautiful landscapes with a picnic lunch in the shadow of Brandberg mountain. Later, you'll reach the Atlantic coast and Skeleton Coast to see the shipwreck of the Zeila, then arrive in Swakopmund and check into A La Mer hotel in the town centre.

- Day 4
Swakopmund to Sesriem
You'll have the morning to walk around Swakopmund before departing at 11:30. Then drive east into the desert crossing Namib gravel plains with mountain inselbergs. Navigate two mountain passes, Kuiseb Pass and the smaller Gaub River canyon. You'll cross the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.5 degrees south and stop for photos at the signpost. Arrive at Sesriem and camp under an ancient camel thorn tree with views of the red dunes.

- Day 5
Sossusvlei and Sesriem
Leave before dawn to reach Dune 45 for sunrise, climbing to see glowing orange and red sand dunes. After a quick breakfast, head to the 2x4 car park and walk 5km through the Tsauchab River-bed to Sossusvlei. Board a 4x4 shuttle to Dead Vlei with its famous skeletal camel thorn trees and climb one of the world's highest dunes, up to 300 meters. Return for lunch and optional swimming, then visit Sesriem Canyon in the afternoon or take an optional sunset walk to Elim Dune.

Sesriem to Aus
Drive through changing desert scenery, mountains, and open grassland heading south to the Aus Mountains. You'll arrive at Klein Aus Vista, a private campsite in Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park, in the early afternoon. Set up camp and hike the unguided trails on the property to stretch your legs and enjoy the wide open vistas. Spend the evening watching the sunset from the campsite.

- Day 7
Aus to Luderitz
Start early on sealed tar road heading east toward the ocean through grasslands and desert. Keep your eyes open for desert-adapted wild horses in the area. Arrive at the ghost town of Kolmanskop, about 15 kilometers from Luderitz, for a guided tour of this historic diamond mining town with German colonial architecture. Continue to Luderitz to see the colorful colonial-style buildings and visit the historical monument at Diaz Point. Return to Klein Aus Vista for a sundowner with another chance to spot the desert horses.

- Day 8
Aus to Quiver Tree Forest
Take a long drive heading east and then south on tar roads through Namibia's southern region. The main stop is at Fish River Canyon in the /Ai-/Ais Richtersveldt Transfrontier National Park where you'll view Hell's Bend from high on the plateau. Continue to Keetmanshoop and arrive at the Quiver Tree Forest campsite for your final night. Watch the sunset from the forest and reflect on your adventure around the campfire.

- Day 9
Quiver Tree Forest to Windhoek
Head north on the main tar road back to Windhoek for the final leg of your safari. The journey passes several landmarks worth noting: Brukkaros mountain visible to the west after about 80 kilometers, and the Gibeon area around 150 kilometers in, which is known for ancient meteor strike fragments. Stop in small towns of Mariental and Rehoboth for a light lunch. You'll arrive in Windhoek in the late afternoon and get dropped at your accommodation.
