Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali
Your guide meets you at the airport and from there, you'll head into Kigali for a city tour. The day includes stops at museums and memorials to learn about Rwanda's history, then you'll walk through local markets and check out the food scene. Mount Kigali gives you views over the capital, and by evening you'll have dinner at a local restaurant to get a real sense of the city's food culture.

Kigali to Nyungwe
After leaving Kigali, you'll travel toward Nyungwe National Park with several stops along the way. Kamegeri Rock and Nyanza King's Palace show you different sides of Rwanda's heritage, and the National Ethnographic Museum adds more context. You'll grab lunch in Huye before continuing on to your accommodation in Nyungwe for the night.

Nyungwe to Karongi
This morning starts early with chimpanzee trekking through Nyungwe National Park, where you'll hike through the forest looking for groups in their natural habitat. After you finish the trek and have time to rest, you'll transfer to Karongi and settle in for the night there.

Karongi to Musanze
You'll spend time on Lake Kivu with a boat trip, then hike out to Napoleon and Amahoro Islands. The scenic drive along the Kivu Belt Road takes you to Musanze afterward, where you'll stay overnight. The landscape here shifts as you move toward the volcanic region.

Musanze
Buhanga Forest is your first stop today, and you'll walk through it to see the local ecosystem. Later, Ibyiwacu Cultural Village gives you a chance to learn directly from locals about their traditions and daily life. You'll return to Musanze for another night in the area.

Musanze
Early on, you'll head out for the golden monkeys excursion in the area around Musanze, where these endangered primates live in the highland forests. Twin Lakes is your next stop before you head back to Musanze for the evening.

Musanze to Bwindi or Mgahinga
You'll cross the border into Uganda today, transferring to either Bwindi or Mgahinga National Parks depending on your route. Along the way, you can arrange optional activities like visiting a Batwa Village to meet the local community or touring a coffee plantation if that interests you.

Bwindi or Mgahinga
Gorilla trekking happens early this morning in Bwindi or Mgahinga, where you'll hike through thick forest searching for mountain gorilla families. After the trek and time to recover, you'll travel back across the border to Musanze, Rwanda for your overnight stay.

Musanze to Kigali
