  Overall this tour was great. The cities and sites we see are interesting and well-planned. Each city has a different tour guide but I like this aspect as each guide was from their respective city and not only were experts on it, but also had first-hand experience growing up and living there. What I did not like was for the first two days of the trip, we had two different drivers bringing us around. It wasn't until the third day where we had a driver that stayed with us until the end. I think it would be great to have a single driver/point of contact that sticks with you the entire time. This would make for a better relationship and to help better address any questions or concerns. I also did not like the Ramada hotel in Fes. It was labeled a 5-star hotel but was very outdated, in poor condition, and overall far worse than the other two hotels we stayed in. I was the only person on my tour but I was always with other people as the different tours of Discover Morocco are combined together during parts of shared itinerary. This is not a great tour for solo travelers or meeting people, but for getting to know Morocco and have everything handled for you, it was a really good experience.Show more

  The destinations on the itinerary are superb. However, Discover Morocco, the local tour company, has an inefficient business model that resulted in a LOT of frustration for all members of our group. Drivers are subcontracted for each transfer, along with freelance guides in each city / location. This meant that there was no daily timetable, meals were not planned (we had lunch at 3.00pm three days running), restaurants for lunch were not vetted but left to the guide's discretion. In Ouzoud at 'Chez Mounir' three people got sick after lunch. Hotels are rated 4-star but the management in each one was terrible: hot breakfast served cold (Tangier), breakfasts without protein (Marrakesh), artificial orange juice (Marrakesh), etc. In Rabat the hotel receptionist Nadia JITI screamed at everyone, creating havoc in the lobby. In three hotels our room was immediately over or under a nightclub with drums, guitar, DJ and loudspeakers until 2.00am (Tangiers), 4.45am (Marrakesh) and 11.00pm (Rabat) on three of the six nights. Clearly Discover Morocco reserves only the worst rooms in each hotel for the TOURADAR group. Two excellent drivers were Omar (Tangiers-Chefchaouen) and Adnane (Fez-Ouzoud-Marrakech) and two excellent guides Mediha in Meknes and Said in Fez. All the other guides were incoherent (Rabat), not bothered about safety of the group (Abdulillah in Marrakesh), or just plain rude and obnoxious (Nourreddine in Tangiers). There was a massive amount of WALKING, STEPS, and HILLS every day with 10-12 hour days, so future travelers should be duly warned. This is NOT the right tour for anyone who is disabled. On several tours, other travelers were added to our group, so we had to observe their time constraints to end the tour. EG. In Tangiers, an individual traveler had to be back at the station for 4.00pm so our city tour was cut short to drop her off. Everyone in our group was expecting ONE DRIVER and ONE GUIDE for the trip, as stated in the tour description (professional driver, professional guide), not 'drivers' and 'guides' in the plural. The advertising is very misleading and requires correction for truth-in-advertising.Show more

  Hi Lyn I am quite surprised to receive a negative review for your recent tour with us. I must say that all that you have mentioned is completely wrong and inaccurate. As mentioned in the itinerary, we use local professional guides for every city because of their expertise and knowledge. You also complained about a lot of walking, being in a shared group and not good for disabled people, well indeed, as per itinerary description, our tour is not suitable for disabled and involves a lot of walking and is a shared tour. So you must know this in advance or pay triple the price for a private tour and then you can have your own driver & own guide. We use the best 4* hotels on our tours and everyone is pleased with them, continental buffet is served every morning with hot & cold food. We had travellers come from different backgrounds enjoying our tours, spending good moments with the group and sharing it with loved ones. Unfortunately this wasn't the case for you.   The benefit of being one traveler is the attention and focus I received..it was phenomenal. I was completely satisfied because of two amazing guys. Anyone who wants to visit Morocco ask for these two astounding gentlemen and from Morocco Discovery Tours, Issam and Moncef. They made my Moroccan tour very memorable. I had a great time with them. Moncef has an infectious laugh plus a great driver. I had wonderful time spent with them. They treated me like their own father and I respected that. Always watched my safety. Issam even wished my flight back home will be cancelled so I could stay in their home…I was flattered and honored. That’s how we bonded together. The hotels are good except one that I called 2x to come turn off the tv, remote control needs new battery. No one came so I removed the swipe or access card from the door so I could sleep. Ditto, the only minor thing about the tour that I don’t like much was the local tour guides bringing me to old town medinas (local markets). The last one I was ready to puke and had terrible headache. Crowded, air circulation is poor and the smell was horrendous. Rabat is clean city but has no historical significance and Casablanca as well. Nothing triggers the catalyst of my imagination.
