Id like to know when can I arrive before the tour. I see some flights arrive in Cairo at 2 am. How do we get to the hotel

We will pick you up in the airport and take you to the hotel, that is already included in the tour price and we will do that regardless of your time of arrival. What you should consider though is the check in time in the hotel, if you are going to arrive around 200 AM the official check in time in the hotel is after 14:00 (2 pm) so this means that you would have to wait a long time to get your room. The alternative to waiting is to pay for an extra night and this would mean your room would be available for you as soon as you arrive. The cost of an extra night in the same hotel as the tour with breakfast and taxes included would be 190 USD, this is the total price for 2 people.

Wondering if the trip to Abu Simbel is by coach bus or is it a flight? If it's by coach bus, how long is the drive to Abu Simbel.

The included excursion to Abu Simbel is by land and it takes around 3 hours to get from Aswan to Lake Nasser where the Temples are. The tour normally starts at 330 am and get back to the boat by around midday. If you would rather do the excursion by air we can add the supplement for the flights. The average cost of adding the supplement for the flight is around 350 -410 usd (American dollars)per persons depending on the available seats on the flight.

How much should I tip guides and drivers during the tour?

Tipping is discretionary; you can choose to tip small amounts to bellboys and drivers, with higher tips to guides depending on the service received.

Are vaccination requirements necessary for visiting Egypt?

The tour guides were outstanding — Mirna, Kerolos, and Medhat were all extremely knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about Egyptian history, which made every visit even more engaging. The hotels were excellent, and the cabin on the Nile cruise was stunning. The food on the boat was also amazing, with great variety and quality throughout the cruise. We told the front desk, they checked our room and they offered us a different room with no odor. Staff were friendly. Tour guides were acceptable, about 4 out of 5. I had food poisoning in the cruise. Also, either 3 or 4 of the 7 persons group from Australia who were on our cruise, experienced food poisoning. If I and the other group had not experienced the food poisoning on-board the cruise, I would have scored the tour 4.5/5.0Show more

The Legends of Egypt Tour by Planet tours exceeded out expectations. Their coordinator Omar looked after us through every pickup and transfer with high quality assitants, vehicles and drivers navigating us through the airports and complex traffic. The quality of accommodation thoughout was also very high. However the knowledge of their Egyptologists made it the right trip for us. In Cairo we worked with Mena and throughout the rest of the trip we worked with Midhat. Both were not mere guides but souces of knowledge not avialable without years of training. We cannot recommend Planet Tours highly enough for any serious history buffs. Let them look after you like they did us. (Do be prepared for some early starts. There is alot to fit into the time avaialable)Show more
