Itinerary
- Day 1
Bujumbura
You'll arrive in Bujumbura and settle into Safari Gate Hotel. After checking in, the afternoon is set aside for a city tour where you'll visit the Bunyezi Muslim Center and the Snake and Culture Museum. Later, head to Belvedere for views overlooking the city and Lake Tanganyika.

Bujumbura
Start the day driving to Rusizi National Park where you can see hippos, antelopes, monkeys, and colorful birds throughout the park. You'll stop at the Explorers' Memorial rock, which marks where John Speke and Hannington met. After that, take a tuk-tuk tour along Lake Tanganyika's shores and finish by visiting Albert's Zoo.

Bujumbura to Gitega
Drive to the source of the Nile and see the waterfalls there. From there, continue on to Gitega where you'll explore the Gishora drum sanctuary, known for its traditional drum making and the ritual drums Ruciteme and Murimirwa. Spend time at the National Museum and tour through Gitega city including the Catholic village.
