Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
You'll arrive in Cusco and check into your hotel. The morning is yours to rest and adjust to the altitude, or wander around the cobblestone streets and local markets if you're feeling up to it. After lunch, head to the Inka Museum where you can see artifacts from thousands of years of Andean history. Later, make your way to Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, which was the most important temple in the Inca empire.

- Day 2
Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Start early and visit Saqsayhuamán to see those massive stone walls built without any mortar, which gives you great views over Cusco. From there, you'll go to the Temple of the Moon and Qenqo, a ceremonial site with lots of Inca carvings and symbols. In the afternoon, drive to Ollantaytambo and catch a scenic train that descends through the cloud forest toward Aguas Calientes.

- Day 3
Ollantaytambo
Get up early and have breakfast, then take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu so you arrive when the morning mist is still clearing. Your guide takes you through the temples, plazas, agricultural terraces, and ceremonial areas. If you've booked ahead, you can hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for extra views. Afterward, head down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and to rest, then catch the train back to Ollantaytambo.

- Day 4
Sacred Valley - Cusco
Begin at Moray, an Inca site with concentric terraces that researchers think was used as an agricultural laboratory. Then travel to the Maras Salt Mines where over 3,000 salt pools sit in the landscape and local families still harvest salt the traditional way. End in Chinchero, a town with colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and weavers who'll show you how they work using ancient methods. You'll return to Cusco by evening.
