  I was not allowed into Brazil because Tour Radar and Bamba Travel did not tell me I needed a visa to enter Brazil. I told Tour Radar my situation being stranded with nowhere to go . I have been traveling for 50 years and have never run into this situation.. Instead of refunding my money , Tour Radar have sent me several reviews asking me how I enjoyed my trip. If I do not get my money back, I will let everyone I can about how your organizations treat a 74 year old traveller and warn people about yoy. William WeinerShow more

  The amazon rainforest is absolutely incredible and it was a mostly fantastic experience while there. The wildlife was incredible to see. The lodge was comfortable and the food was delicious! There were fun activities and I learned a lot about the area and it's history. I was concerned that the tour guide did catch a small caimen and held it while describing anatomy/behavior etc. it was also concerning that it was then passed around for anyone who wanted to hold it - despite the tourists having contaminants like big spray on them. That was uncool. You're not going to grab a sloth out of a tree - no need to grab a caimen. This also does seem to break the trip advisor animal welfare guidelines. My guide did speak English which was great and very appreciated. He couldn't tell me a lot about the local indigenous tribes or whose land we were on, but just said they didn't really exist there anymore as they had "retreated into the forest". I'm not sure if he didn't really understand my questions or if he just didn't know. The survival camping night was a bit odd as well, we broke several cardinal rules of camping (10 essentials, making camp before dark, etc). The light misogyny of the guide also made me quite annoyed - our guide was really just surviving for us, instead of using the collective expertise of me and my fellow tourists, who back country camp regularly. We ended up making camp in the dark, putting up tarps last minute before a rainstorm, and taking forever to build a fire, and not eating until at least 9:30pm. Not entirely sure if recommend this night. The communication from bamba was subpar - maybe I missed it, but I didn't know who the local operator was until just days before leaving, wasn't entirely sure where I was getting picked up from, and I didn't get a gear list until about a week before - luckily I had done my own research and was fairly well lifted out because I had already left my home country by that time and wasn't going to bring anything else.Show more

  I had a fantastic time! The itinerary made every day (including arrival) a day where I learned and experienced something new. The transportation was well-organized, and we went by van, boat, van and boat to arrive & reverse to return. The guide was funny, knowledgeable, and fluent in English. He always gave us clear instructions/advice to prepare us for the next tour or activity. Bring your most serious mosquito spray because when you go on excursions, they are aggressive (they can bite through the hammock material!) I also recommend that you be prepared for the humidity. They feed you pretty generously, but you may want to bring some sweets, but there is cupuacu mousse cups that are yummy and not very expensive! The only thing I was sad about was that it was hard to see the river dolphins. We did spot a few in the distance.Show more

  Lovely experience that brings you closer to nature... The night in the jungle in hammocks is super cool, swimming in the amazone and fishing piranha's is superb, the rooms are very basic and the last day the meet&greet with locals was kinda boring... also if you don't speak portugese, you are a little bit left out, our guide spoke englisch but if he explained something it was 5 minutes in portugese and 5 words in Englisch... Also I would have expected to see more animals...Show more

  This trip was truly amazing. Our guide Anderson was so knowledgeable about the Amazon and just a great bloke. We had a great bunch of people from all over the world to enjoy the tour with. Food was plentiful and delicious. Sleeping in hammocks in the jungle and catching fish and Caiman were highlights. If you have an adventurous spirit you will love this!Show more

  While the rain forest was a bit different from expected, it was quite an enjoyable experience. Mathias was our guide and was very knowledgeable and provide a lot of information not just into the animals but survival in the forest and the way of life for people in the region. He very much made the trip extra special for me. While I arranged for a private room, I thought the cabin was quite reasonable including the bathroom and shower. The food and water were good, there was always plenty available for everyone and never experienced any stomach or other issues. The only suggestion I might offer was the communication on the trek from Manaus. I realise the 2 bridges being in-accessible made the journey unusual, but a number of us were uncertain what was happening and what we were supposed to do. We made our way fine in the end, but a bit more proactive communication may have removed some uncertainty and anxiety as to where we were to go or for what we were waiting.Show more

He cooked us an amazing dinner in the jungle over the fire and again for breakfast outdid himself. He was very motivated and knows everything.Show more

  Each day trip was well planned, almost tailored to the individual interests of the traveller. The guides were very helpful to everyone. In my case, because of my age (75 years old) they were so conscious of that, even I did not asked for any special treatment and tried do things myself, they were always ready to help! They had a good sense of humour and were very, very knowledgable of the Amazon environment. Conrado made numerous efforts to let the group in the boat to catch a glimpse of birds, daulphins and sloths. They showed all what was promised and sometimes more. Thank you, I highly recommend this tour and this Company. Big high five!!!Show more
