      This trip is a 3/5 on our physical rating scale. Which would mean, that this trip will raise your heart rate. Moderate physical activities are included and a good level of fitness is required.

      The summit trail starts more easily, while heading to the crater it climbs steeply with switchbacks over volcanic rocks and gravel. The path can be slippery, particularly after rain so good shoes are essential. The climb may be cancelled during heavy rain and unsafe conditions.

      Intrepid gets a LOT of travellers in their 60's/70's that could run circles around me! If you have a good level of fitness and are familiar with challenging hikes like this then I would say you'll be just fine. What I found great and reassuring was that we had a few guides doing the hike with us so they were able to split up and have someone stay back with those who may be taking the hike a bit slower - the encouragement from our guide was very helpful!

      If you'd like to book on to the 19OCT2024 departure then the cost of the trip would be £880 and single supplement is £200 brining your total cost to £1,080. The 23OCT2024 departure is £785 and single supplement is also £200 brining your trip cost to £985.

      I'm thinking of coming a day earlier say the 22nd as my flight arrives really late. Would you know what the extra cost of accommodation would be. Also what is the name of the hotel I would be staying at please on the 23rd?

      The joining point hotel for the 23 Oct 2024 departure would be Nick's Pension Hotel in Ubud. If you are arriving a day early, we are able to arrange pre accommodation at an addition cost. Pre-accommodation - Nick's Pension Hotel - Single - GBP 43.00 (per room/ per night)

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before July 23rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 23rd, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
    • The following cards are accepted for "Intrepid Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
