Do you offer e-bikes on this tour? If so, what is the cost?

Yes we do offer e-bikes on this tour and will cost 700$ extra

      Eva

      TravelerWritten June 2023

That's way too expensive, are they gold plated?

    • One Bike TanzaniaOperatorWritten June 2023

I understand that 700$ is big extra cost, however e-bikes are very expensive themselves and bringing them to Tanzania is hard and expensive as well. There is no sellers in Tanzania or even East Africa so we have to ship them from Europe, which takes a very long time and is expensive due to shipment and taxes. Regardless, we know that a lot of clients are looking for e-bikes and that is why we are the only bike tour company offering e-bike rental. This is why we have to charge 100$/day for e-bikes, which is similar to the price that you would find in Europe.

Thanks Hillary. I had my bike converted in the UK for a reasonable price and i love it as i live in a very hilly area. I am still interested in the tour but having been to Africa before i am a bit concerned about the heat sapping my energy and on other bike tours i have been on they all seem to be ex Tour de France cyclists ha ha.
