    Asked on January 4th, 2026

Please find below a list of the hotels we typically work with.

Windhoek: Town Lodge Windhoek or similar

Lüderitz: Island Cottage Guesthouse or similar
Sossusvlei: Solitaire Roadhouse Lodge or similar
Etosha: Etosha Omusati Village or similar
      Grootberg: Brandberg or similar
      Twyfelfontein: Twyfelfontein Lodge or similar

      Carole

      TravelerWritten January 2026

Accommodation review: what would be the best way for us to review the proposed lodges/hotels in order to get a clearer idea (official websites, brochures, or other reference material)?
Additionally, will it be contractually specified that, in case of changes due to availability, the alternative accommodations will not be of a lower category or standard?

Grootberg accommodation: we were not able to find information online for "Grootberg: Brandberg or similar". Could you please share the full name of the property or a reference website?

Meals: for the meals not explicitly mentioned in the itinerary, how are they usually managed considering that the trip involves long transfers and remote/desert areas? Are meals typically organized at lodges, arranged en route, or handled independently?

Driving and logistics: could you please clarify who will be driving during the trip? Will it be a guide/driver provided by your organization?

    • C

      Carole

      TravelerWritten January 2026

There will be free time and activities in some destinations. Would it be possible to already receive a list of suggested activities?
In case activities need to be booked independently, can you confirm whether the itinerary timings will be respected and which will be the timing? We ask this as in previous trips we experienced delays that resulted in losing pre-booked activities.

    • Across Africa Tours & TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

      Accommodation:
You may review the hotels by visiting their official websites.

All listed lodges are mid-range accommodations, with upgrade options available upon request.

In the event that a listed property is unavailable at the time of booking, a similar hotel of equal or slightly higher standard will be reserved. We do not compromise on quality.

Grootberg Accommodation: Accommodation in Damaraland, Namibia will be at Grootberg Lodge.

Meals: Meals not specifically included in the itinerary will be taken at local restaurants along the way, where payment will be required in cash. Breakfasts and dinners will be provided at the hotels where you will be staying.

Guide and Driver: The tour will be conducted by a professional guide who will also serve as the driver. If you prefer to have a separate guide and driver, this can be arranged at an additional cost.

Program & Activities: We will follow the original program; however, due to unforeseen circumstances, timings may vary slightly. We kindly ask that you inform us in advance of any activities you wish to pre-book so we can coordinate schedules and advise on availability. A list of optional activities will be shared shortly.

How much would a tour for twenty - 16 to 18-year-olds and 2 adults cost? I assume it would be an entire tour booked out? If you could provide me with a ballpark figure so that I can discuss on with my school. Dates would be for Mid-Year (July Holiday) 2024.
