Day 1
Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
Your guide will pick you up and walk through a safari briefing before heading into Kigali for a city tour. The day includes stops at the genocide memorial museum, Nyabugogo market, a pottery project, and the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo, plus the Franco-Rwanda cultural center. After grabbing lunch, you'll drive north to Volcanoes National Park and check in for the night.

Day 2
Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you'll head to park headquarters at 8:00 AM for a gorilla tracking briefing. Then it's off into the jungle to search for mountain gorillas with a packed lunch in hand. Tracking can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are moving, but once you find them, you'll have an hour to watch and photograph. If things wrap up early, you can relax at nearby hotels or join an optional cultural tour to meet local communities.

Start with an early breakfast, then head out for Golden Monkey trekking. After that, you'll drive back to Kigali city, which marks the end of your gorilla trekking safari. From there, you'll be dropped at your hotel in Kigali or taken to the airport for your departure flight.

Excellent itinerary for the time and budget available. Nelson was an informative and knowledgeable guide who also unearthed some hidden gems. Overall tour gave a really good insight into the country and encompassed cultural, historical, scenic and wildlife elements.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with Ovacado Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Ovacado Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
