Austria enjoys pleasant summer weather, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 23°C to 29°C depending on the region and altitude. The Czech Republic is also comfortably warm in August, with average daytime temperatures typically ranging from 24°C to 28°C. Physical rating: 3 out of 5 = This trip will raise your heart rate. Moderate physical activities are included and a good level of fitness is required. Single supplement and ebike are both On Request and would take around 2-4 business days to seek availability once a deposit or full payment if applicable has been paid. If the single supplement and/or ebike is a dealbreaker for you (i.e. you will NOT travel without your own room or an ebike) - we may collect deposit to request the services and if unavailable, we can refund your deposit.

A single supplement is available if you'd prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Day 12 (Komarom) where you will be in a twin-share room, and is subject to availability. Cost for this is €1,035. For our 09AUG2025 departure we have 9 people confirmed.

My height is 158 cm. Inseam about 71 cm. I usually ride a small men's bike, or the largest for a boy. I would probably be okay on a standard bike. However, I often stop to take photos. Riding an e-bike allows me to catch up.

A single supplement is available if you'd prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Day 12 (Komarom) where you will be in a twin-share room, and is subject to availability. If you would like to add on the single supplement the cost would be $1,245 USD.

Would the weather be much hotter on the August 24 date than the Sept 21 starting date? I'm not too familiar with the wine harvest time on the journey. Would they still be harvesting wine during the August 24 trip in the valleys we'd be riding through? Still room available on both those dates?

September would be the most ideal time to visit weather wise as it will be mild and pleasant. We do still have availability on both departures 24AUG & 21SEP however they are limited. Wine harvest season is typically August to October so which ever date you decided on you will still get to experience the harvest.

Do you bring your own bike? Do most airlines allow this?

A bicycle is included; if you are thinking of bringing your own bike on this trip, please advise us at time of booking and take note of the below information. If you do choose to bring your own bike, please note that we will not being carrying a spare bike for you. We recommend a 'mountain' or 'hybrid' style bike with plenty of gear selections for easy cruising. On this trip we use 2017 Felt 7 Fifty mountain bikes.

The overall arrangement was very good, in particular for the mix selection of the places, including big cities and nature centers/resorts. The team leaders have done their job well. They were friendly and worked hard to cope with difficult situations such as train cancellations and different requests from the team members. The only failure was the bus trip from Bratislava to Budapest as the condition inside the bus was very poor. There were traffic jams and it took too much time on the road in the uncomfortable bus.Show more

I have no hesitation in recommending the tour, as long as you ensure you have a medium level of fitness (high level for old people - I’m 75). There is a lot of walking with hills, stairs and cobbled streets.Show more
