German-Speaking guide is available any date for USD$ 10 per day, making total amount USD$ 100. The tour will be private. Different room categories in hotel and ship are possible for extra charge. We can arrange pre/post trip activities. Visa upon arrival is available for German citizens for USD$ 25, processed in 10 to 15 minutes at the airport.

The company delivered minimally all that it promised, although we did not do the cruise portion of the trip with this company. We elected instead to go with another company for the cruise portion so we could book a Dahabiya small boat cruise on the Upper Nile. Smart move! Two big issues where the company failed to meet minimal expectations: 1. The vans used for excursions and airport transportation were old filthy rattle traps. The stuffing was coming out of the seats, seatbelts did not work and in a couple of cases when we picked up the day guides, we had to sit on someone’s lap to all fit. Numerous complaints got nowhere. 2. We had to pay for our Cairo to Luxor and Aswan to Cairo flights in cash when we arrived. ($220pp). We should have smelled a rat. We ended up flying in the middle of the night, probably the cheapest flights, that left us sitting in a hotel lobby for five hours while the hotel supposedly cleaned rooms. (They were filthy, but that was an issued settled by the hotel.). The return flight was the same situation. But we bagged that flight as a lost cause and money and booked our own at our convenience for a fraction of the cost. If you book your own flights on the internet, you can do it cheaper and at your convenience. Beware and research. Also, don’t spend more than three days max in Cairo. Take a private Coptic tour, spend a day at the pyramids and GEM. Memphis is a half day trip max. Tell your guide that his tip will drop substantially if he takes you to the usual sales stops included in the tour. They are a ripoff. We knew ahead of time. PS: Cairo is a polluted mess. You can cut the pollution with a knife. Three days max!!Show more

The hotels in Cairo and Alexandria were nice but were far from retail commercial areas. 2.The local guide in Luxor Ahmed Mousa and the local tour manager Tarek provided expectational service in reviewing my tour schedule and fixing discrepancies which made my trip down the Nile the best part of the two weeks. 5 stars to both of them. 3.The tour guide in Cairo, Walid Saad is very experience and is very knowledgeable about the ancient and religious history which was helpful for the time the spent. 5 stars to him 4. Their responsiveness no matter which part of the day or night I messaged was immediate. The team truly made this experience great. It’s not that things didn’t go wrong, it was how it was handled that made the difference. As for Egypt!? What can I say. It’s little surprise it’s on everyone’s “favorite country” list. Truly impressive what they achieved so very long ago when most of mankind was living out of caves! Also Egypt got lucky, because of the dry desert and the pyramids, most of its artifacts are preserved in their original splendor. The other civilizations have their stuff rotted away a long time ago because of more humid climates. So impressive and so glad we can see these things today. Thank you egypt. I took an Excellent 18-day (including travel days) itinerary operated by Ancient Egypt Tours. the tour iincluded major historic sites in the Cairo area (Giza, Saqqara and Memphis) as well as the Egyptian Museum and El Khalili market. Alexandria and El Alamein also included. An extended Nile cruise enabled in depth visits to Luxor (Karnak, Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens), among others, the temples at Kom Ombo, Edfu and Philae. The Guides, local to each area, were excellent, all well trained in Egyptology and tourism with years of experience. Guides and tour vehicles ALWAYS on time. Accommodations, including the Nile Cruise boat, were 4 and 5 star with sumptuous buffet breakfasts. Only one hotel was a disappointment. Internet access limited at most hotels.Show more

- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an infected area for Egypt. Ideally 10 days before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 29th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 29th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with Ancient Egypt Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Ancient Egypt Tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Ancient Egypt Tours" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
