Itinerary
- Day 1
Lucca
You'll arrive in Lucca and get fitted for your bike before heading out on a 4 km test ride around the Renaissance city's fortified walls. If you get there early, there's time to walk through the city center and check out the Roman amphitheater, Torre Guinigi with its tree-topped medieval tower, and the marble Duomo. This evening you'll meet your group for a welcome dinner at a local trattoria.

Lucca to Pisa
Your bike ride today covers 59 km roundtrip to Pisa following the river. Once there, you'll explore the medieval Square of Miracles with the Romanesque Baptistery, Cathedral, the famous Leaning Tower, and the Monumental Cemetery. After that, you cycle back to Lucca to finish the day.

Lucca to Vinci
You'll cycle from Lucca to Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci's birthplace, and spend time in the town center checking out the museum with its wooden models showing his inventions and designs. Later you're heading to a Tuscan farmhouse in the Chianti region on the Montalbano hills, surrounded by vineyards, cypress trees, and olive groves. Your tour leader hosts a group dinner there.

Vinci to Colle di Val d'Elsa
Starting from the Florence province, you'll cycle toward Siena's territory, passing through the ceramics town of Montelupo Fiorentino. Then you climb to a ridge road with views across cypress trees, olive groves, and vineyards. By afternoon you reach Colle di Val d'Elsa, a walled medieval town on a hilltop, where you can wander the cobblestone streets and alleyways.

After walking through the town center and trying Vernaccia wine, your tour leaders point out their favorite local restaurants before you head back to Colle di Val d'Elsa.

Colle di Val d'Elsa to Siena
You cycle south through rolling Tuscan hills to reach Siena, which many consider the most striking city in the region. After settling into your hotel, you'll explore the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral and the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio horse race happens twice yearly. There's plenty of time to wander the alleys and tight streets. If you'd rather not cycle, you can take a public bus transfer directly to Siena instead.

This evening brings a goodbye group dinner celebrating your bike tour.
