  • N

    Naomi

    Asked on November 7th, 2023

Is there any possibility that we could get out to the start and home from the finish by boat and/or train?

    Flights / Transfers
    Transport
    • Baltic Nature TravelOperatorWritten November 2023

To Tallinn, it is possible to come by boat from Stockholm to start the tour. The tour ends in Riga (no international ferries), and there you can take a bus to Klaipeda. In Klaipeda are DFDS ferries to Kiel, Germany, and Karlsham, Sweden. The international train system is not very well developed, but it is possible to enter Lithuania by train from Poland. The international bus system is much better developed. Look into companies like LuxExpress, EcoLines, and FlixBus for different routes.

      Naomi

      TravelerWritten November 2023

We live in Sheffield, England. If we could get to Stockholm without flying it may be possible to do the tour - we would prefer not to fly back, but if we did my wife could recover at home and it would not spoil the trip.

    • Baltic Nature TravelOperatorWritten November 2023

I can not find any ships going from England to Sweden. In my research, I only found out that DFDS used to go to Bergen, Norway from Newcastle. But also that stopped in 2008 because of the low-cost flights. But I think the best would be to travel via Warsaw by train to Vilnius. We also have fixed departure group tours starting in Vilnius. The itinerary is a little bit different.
