  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive in Kathmandu and get transferred to your hotel. After settling in, spend the evening on your own exploring the Thamel district. There's plenty of local restaurants and shops to wander through, so grab dinner whenever it suits you and get a feel for the city.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    Your guide handles the trekking permits early on. Then you'll head out on a guided tour through Kathmandu's historical sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhha Stupa. Back at the hotel by afternoon, you'll spend time checking your trekking gear and getting everything organized for the trek ahead.

    Kathmandu to Sotikhola

    Early morning drive to Dhading Besi, then the roads get narrower as you head toward Arughat. After checking out the local market there, you'll start trekking toward Sotikhola. The landscape shifts as you go, with scattered houses, green mountains, waterfalls, and terraced fields creating a nice mix of local and natural scenery.

    Sotikhola to Machha Khola

    After crossing a suspension bridge at Soti Khola, you'll trek through pine forest with a mix of climbs and descents. Waterfalls appear throughout the day, and you'll pass Gurung villages and rice terraces. Another suspension bridge gets you across to Machha Khola by day's end.

    The terrain here is gentler as you cross Tharo khola and work up ridges. You'll cross a suspension bridge over the Budhigandaki River, navigate a series of descents and ascents, and cross the Thado bharyang river before a final climb to Jagat.

    Start early and trek along a rocky ridge ascending toward Salleri. Millet fields cascade around you as you reach Ekle Bhatti. From there, the gorge gets steep and uninhabited, with bamboo forests thick on either side as you push toward Deng.

    Cross the Budhi Gandaki River and climb to Rana. The trail takes you through forest past waterfalls and Tibetan prayer walls in a local village. Rhododendron forest surrounds you as you ascend to Namrung, where views open up to Himal Chuli, Shirung, and Ganesh himal.

    Samagaun to Samdo

    Depending on how your group's doing, you'll trek toward Samdo village and then continue toward Larke Pass. Juniper birch forest surrounds you as you cross a wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. Samdo itself is a Tibetan settlement where people migrated from Chinese territory about 50 years ago.

  10. Day 10

    Samdo

    This day lets your body adjust to the high altitude and helps prevent mountain sickness. Your guide leads a short hike up to higher elevation in the morning, then you return to the lodge. The rest of the day you'll follow AMS protocols and take it easy at the lodge.

  11. Day 11

    Samdo to Dharmasala

    Trek downhill starting early and cross a wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. Juniper bush covers the slopes as you climb toward views of Larke La Glacier. After 3 to 4 hours of high-altitude hiking, you'll reach Dharmasala for the day to rest and acclimatize.

The final push is tough, but you'll reach the pass and see Himlung himal, Kanguru, Annapurna II, and Mt. Manaslu spread across the horizon. Then you descend to Bhimtang.

    Descend through meadows with pine and rhododendron forest down to Hampuk. From there you follow Dudh Khola downward through Karche and Gho. Staying on the west bank, the afternoon brings a gradual descent to Tilije, a Gurung settlement known for making apple brandy.

    You'll trek along the Dudh Khola, which is a tributary of the Marsyangdi River, heading toward where they meet in Dharapani. The trail runs gently downstream through the river valley. You'll pass through Syange village, where you'll spend the night.

    • For any tour departing before April 10th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of 35% is required to confirm your booking with Oriental Journeys Pvt. Ltd.. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
