Want to join a group in July for Kilimanjaro. My friends tell me that Machame is the best for climbing Kilimanjaro so I want to use it. I am a solo traveler, is this okay and acceptable to join a group as one person? What are the items that I can get from your company so that I do not have a lot of baggage and what are the costs? How much extra will I be charged for a portable toilet?

The Machame route is a popular choice for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, known for its scenic beauty and well-established trail. While it is a popular route, it's not necessarily the "best" for everyone. The best route depends on individual preferences, fitness levels, and desired experience. We can join you to the group on that date. Extra charge for the private portable toilets $100 the whole day. You can rent the extra thing that you want in our store.

Travel Requirements for Tanzania: -Visa: For most nationalities, a single-entry tourist visa costs $50. However, U.S. citizens are required to obtain a multiple-entry visa priced at $100, valid for 12 months. -Vaccinations: A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory only if you're arriving from or transiting through a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission. If you're traveling directly from countries without such risk (e.g., the U.S. or Europe), the vaccine isn't required

How will the weather be at this time? We do not want to go when its raining.

July is a great time to climb Kilimanjaro—it's the dry season with clear skies and low chances of rain. Perfect trekking weather!

How are the groups organized in terms of size? Do you have an all female group or it is a mixed sexes group? Can I get a private tent for my self and will it cost extra?

We arrange the climbs each and every day of the year for groups of any size, on any route; both private and open climbs. It is a mixed sexes group. Of course you can get private tent with extra cost $100 per whole trip

I want to plan for a trip to climb Kilimanjaro in May. Please guide me on the steps that I need to take so as to have a wonderful experience. We would want to focus on Kilimanjaro this time and also maybe do a day of safari to Ngorongoro Crater or Arusha National Park. If possible we can also do a cultural visit to some of the local places or tribes. Please advice

For the best results, plan for 8 weeks of training before your Kilimanjaro Trek. This will allow you to build your endurance and strength. In addition to regular gym workouts, make sure you also go for walks in order to stimulate relevant muscle development. Try to do a one or two day hiking trials in your area.

We are hoping to do Kilimanjaro at the end of March. We in our 40s and quite fit and have done a bot trekking in the alps and Peru, and we would love it if you would you advice us on the best route and also whether to do a private or a group trek

I'm interested in the trek but I'm traveling solo and would like to join another group of young adults. I'm flexible in my dates between late June and July 8th.

At present we don't have a group for May 27th but we are in touch with several clients who would confirm for the same date. Alternatively we have a group who will start the trekking on July 4, 2022 via 6 days Rongai Route.

We got picked up at the airport by Juma, who was super friendly, and headed straight to Springlands Hotel. The rooms were clean, comfy, and the breakfast was top-tier—perfect pre-climb vibes. The hike itself was tough, but in the best way. Since we went in early May, the trails weren’t crowded, which made everything feel more peaceful. The weather switched up constantly—hot, freezing, rain, sunshine—but it actually made the views even more insane. Every day felt like walking through a new universe: huge valleys, wild cloud layers, and epic glimpses of the snowy summit. The Zara crew seriously made the trip. I’m vegan, and the food was shockingly good—fresh fruit, veggies, and legit delicious meals that kept us powered up. Our guides—Yesse Lema, Jacksn, and Freddy—were absolute legends.   Regarding this advice, I am pretty fit and I have done a bit of mountain climbing, like the Alps and Everest base camp and Mount Meru. I have seen the related costs for the portable toilet which seems reasonable. Would it be possible to split this cost if another person in our group wants to get the portable toilet, or its fixed?

I want to plan for a trip to climb Kilimanjaro in May. Please guide me on the steps that I need to take so as to have a wonderful experience. We would want to focus on Kilimanjaro this time and also maybe do a day of safari to Ngorongoro Crater or Arusha National Park. If possible we can also do a cultural visit to some of the local places or tribes. Please advice

  For the best results, plan for 8 weeks of training before your Kilimanjaro Trek. This will allow you to build your endurance and strength. In addition to regular gym workouts, make sure you also go for walks in order to stimulate relevant muscle development. Try to do a one or two day hiking trials in your area.

  Obviously there's an almost endless list of things one can do after climbing Kilimanjaro, both within Tanzania and just beyond its borders. But we don't think such a list is useful what you really want is to know the very best options for nearby travel. Tanzania safari or Day Trips. Zanzibar beach holiday.

We are hoping to do Kilimanjaro at the end of March. We in our 40s and quite fit and have done a bot trekking in the alps and Peru, and we would love it if you would you advice us on the best route and also whether to do a private or a group trek

- For any tour departing before July 6th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 6th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures). The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
